Hello, I currently have a 13 plate toyota automatic but looking to trade this in and get a newer car. I have always wanted a nissan juke, I love the look, however, I can only drive automatic cars and have read lots about cvt issues in nissan jukes. The posts and articles I have read all seem to apply to earlier models, Iam looking to get a 17/18 plate and just wondered if the cvt issues still occur in Jukes from these dates? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Given up with this part way through tonight's episode. It really is quite lame, very little based on the original book and not a patch on the original BBC series. What does anyone else think? Read more
The original BBC series is being shown on BBC4 on Thursday evenings. Still better than C5's version, no rose tinted spectacles here.
Surprised to see this. Good to see someone stick with a lovely 1.4 Puma to such a high mileage, just shows cars can last to high mileage. Do the 1.4 engine and other small Ford e.g 1.7 and 1.6 engines have a reputation for high mileage reliability?

Andrew-T, it works remarkably well. The radius isn't exact but the result is very good, you wouldn't know it had been done unless you really knew how an original looks. There one for sale on fleabay that's had such a repair carried out

So had it a while. Only a few times have I driven in slippery conditions so much that the ABS kicks in, but each time the ABS and Electronic Stability Control lights both come on and stay on, the lights wont go off until the car is stopped and ignition switched off for a while.... Read more
Who knows? Hopefully that’s what the dealer and warranty are for .
Over the last few years there has been some significant overcharging appear in the popular press.
A son/daughter find out their widowed mother /dad paying £1800 to cover buildings & contents of a modest home & contents. A quote as a new customer, with the same firm, £300 or so. The Insurance company said "The policies are subject to different terms & conditions, and are thus not directly comparable". "We have refunded x months left on the policy NOT we have refunded 30 years of overpaying"....
Snuck into the Art Department last night and used their vice to get the pulley nut off my alternator, but I still can't get the case halves apart, though I've levered a bit of a gap.
I'd earlier taken all the obvious nuts bolts and screws off.... Read more

I was at an insurance approved bodyshop last week with room for about 15 vehicles in the shop. There were only 6 in there and they have seen a 60% drop in business since March.

Please help. My van was stolen and my insurer has agreed a total loss settlement. However whilst getting all documents together I've noticed the V5 document has my name spelt incorrectly. I noticed one letter was wrong in my surname, it had my name down as Mr BIRU when my name is Mr BIRD
Now i'm panicking because technically does this mean I wasn't the registered keeper in the eyes of the insurance?. It is obviously a typing error and I honestly never noticed it in all 3 years i had the van. I am so stressed and haven't phoned the insurers yet. Do i ring them and explain or do i try and get it changed at DVLA.... Read more
I wouldn’t worry.
I had an MX5, and on the V5 to number of seats it said 3! ??
Most of us file the V5 when it comes back.
My Aviva car policy went from £160 to £200 in 4 years. 2 months ago it jumped to £260 - no changes, no claims etc.
I walked - paying £194 with a £70 Amazon Voucher after 3 months - so a net £124.

They inflate premiums for existing claim free customers cos they can get away with it
The FCA have been promising for years to act on this & did very little
They only have proposed to act, but as usual they will let the insurers self regulate.
What a farce, I tried to haggle with Aviva & they said no, so I walked. When my property insurance was due Aviva actually reduced the premium from the previous year ! Just a coincidence ? I think not
I put small scratch ( took off a layer of paint) on Kia Sportage in supermarket car park. Offered to pay for repair, and owner has advised cost will be £100 - £150 but when I asked for proof of the repair cost, or getting invoice sent to me, so I can pay for the repair, the owner refused. What is my legal position? Read more
Assuming the other party will sign a receipt as full and final settlement of damage, i'd be accepting the amount talked about as getting off lightly.
The alternative, if the other party lets a claims management shark loose could be an equivalent credit hire car for two weeks minumum and an inflated bodyshop bill of £500+, that £150 could well end up @ £2500 and your insurance record severely dented....

I’d leave the Renault, the petrol engines are fragile and automatic Renault’s are hard work to sell on. The Mokka is simple and robust, it uses a well tried and tested engine and gearbox but it’s a bit drab to drive in my opinion but there’s absolutely no reason not to buy one if you like it. I’d sooner pay a bit more for a Honda HRV or a Mazda CX-3 auto though.
