Hi there a little history . I have a 2019 fiesta st , about 9 months ago i was so lucky to hit a pot hole i ended up having to replace the wheel , i had the car tracking and all that done , i also took the car to my ford main dealer and paid for it to be checked over , and was told nothing was wrong. I have also had a full service from ford and car was given a green bill of health .

How about us older drivers with electric cars who do not have smart phones & do not want contactless cards? Read more

All very nice but how much are they charging per kilowatt. Rip off charges often make electric miles per pound dearer than petrol!

Hi there i have a new lease car a ds3 crossback got it end of July and noticed something that craps me out each time it has happened...not often but often enough lol

When i have changed lanes on motorways the cars steering pulls left or right...am i right in thinking this is when i am going over the cat's-eyes in the middle of the white lines?... Read more

Just use your indicators when changing lane and then the system knows that you wanted to change lane and will not do this. It is the correct way to drive anyway.

Yes I know. But I see little point in indicating 'right' when joining from a normal slip-road, where there is no alternative. Similarly while moving in after overtaking. Indicating serves no purpose except perhaps drawing attention. Presumably Lane-Assist will object if you behave like this ?...

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for a used 5dr automatic for my mum, somewhere in the range of £10k. 95% of the time it'll be used as a city runaround. Should be:... Read more

You made a good point about the hybrid battery going cold. But it'll still have to be an auto as she's only passed on the automatic.

That's fine - I only asked as some people have asked such questions when getting older, thinking driving a car with an auto box is easier....

Hi all, thanks in advance for any input.

I'm being told by a neighbour I'm a d*ckhead for being about to pay £11000 for an Astra. I'm pretty sure I'm getting a good deal but the guy works at a garage so I'm doubting things a bit. Here's more info on the car:... Read more

Good honest car with good ride and handling. Though standard 1.4 is very gutless. You could get a 1.4t for similar money. Have a look on Autotrader 68 plate 1.4t for £10.994. Or even a 1.6t with 200 bhp.

I have the Astra K with 1.6 turbo just mentioned.I think it's pretty good. The engine has plenty of to end power and Lee end torque. I think the Astra K package is good. Used they are better value than ford focus or other main rivals, with very little compromises needed.

On VX forums reputation is better than 1.4 turbo but I don't know how exegerated these faults are.

Thanks very much S40 Man. Yes, I've seen that the problems tend to occur more with the 1.4s than the 1.6s. One of the meain reasons I was leaning towards the 1.4 is to keep my insurance down. I've only been driving a year and so insurance is still crazy high. I'm doing what I can to keep it down and compared with the 1.6, the 1.4 will save me hundreds of £ over the course of a few years. . ...

As i might have mentioned before, i have DVD's of the real versions of Tinker Tailor and Smiley's People at home, and once every couple of years treat myself to a re-run.

Have finished watching something, on Youtube, i haven't seen for some 35 years, namely The Jewel in the Crown.... Read more

Nothing wrong inbeing a dinosaur and watching the old stuff, I do myself, re runs of the Bill and Soldier Soldier to name two The modern stuff should not be ignored. Emily in Paris is based in Paris and the scenery in the series is worth the watch just for this. The characters are also entertaining. Well worth watching is The Queens Gambit and you do not really have to understand chess.

Hi guys,

I'm looking to buy my first car here in the UK. I'm 29 years old and had my driving licence since I was 18 (issued in my home country, Romania) and although I've been living in the UK since 2013, I haven't driven here at all yet. ... Read more

Agreed. The A3 is a good one to buy new, as Audis hold their value. But for that very reason it's hard to see a good reason for buying one used, when for the same price you could have a younger SEAT or Skoda.
