Here we go again. possibly more discrimination on the roads. The gov is considering free parking, bus lane use, free entry to restricted emissions zones as well as a possible grant of some £6k to buy the thing in the first place. This is all out of taxation which non EV drivers are paying. EV drivers are also getting subsidised fuel in the form of cheap electric. When will the average driver be able to afford and run a EV and until then carry on helping the well off with their motoring Read more
Very clever. I would have bought a Duster years ago if only there was an automatic, but this is unlikely to become an option as it would take sales away from the parent company Renault's more expensive range.
Another example of manufacturers trying to sell us the cars they think we ought to have instead of those that we actually want. Read more
Most cars in the UK are only driven short distances, less than 5 miles round trip (supermarket, school, etc) so going electric in South-East England makes sense. However, if you are like me and spend 2 hours in the driving seat between appointments, LPG makes sense. LPG is readily available in Lancashire, Yorkshire, Cumberland, Co. Durham and Northumberland from BATA and other agricultural fuel stations.

It looks like anyone running an electric vehicle could be a great target for the criminal cloners if it offers greater incentives. Is the day of the registration plate on cars past it's sell by date as a means of identifying offenders ? There must be a better system surely.
Yesterday I paid a small deposit on a car at an independent dealer but the V5 was not produced and I forgot to ask for it. The car is about 5 years old with one previous owner I am told. Today they have called to say it's ready for collection. I asked about the V5 and was told they don't have it, though they are the legal owners of the car. They said they can give me a V62 document instead, and they will cover the £25 DVLA admin fee for a new V5. However, does this mean that I, as the new owner, will be unable to pay for road tax on the car until my proper V5 arrives ? So might have to wait some weeks before I can drive it on the road?
It is simple.

2014 Kia Sorento. Center console has gone out but I still get one satellite radio station (which I cant change) and the bluetooth still works. Anyone seen something like this before ? I have checked the fuses and all that are either console-related or non-specified look fine. Guessing this could be due to the back up camera but looking for direction before going down the wrong path.

It is canned pork product.
"Prices starting in the region of £24,000".....I bet it'll be more than that - to me a mild refresh means a huge price increase to artificially close the price gap with EVs without reducing the eye-watering price of EVs, even when the technology and batteries become cheaper to make. Read more

Looking to move my Jaguar S-Type diesel on and get a Lexus 400 hybrid. I’m not really looking for anyone’s opinion on whether they agree or disagree with the concept of hybrids, more from any experience of either an RX400h or later RX450h. Avoid top of range air suspension model.. Eventually the suspension units fail and then £1000s.

First question: is it "greener" to have EV or ICE as the principle motive power source. If the answer to this is EV, then:
Second question: how does the government motivate people to change behaviours. They could ask nicely (rarely works if it costs more), but normally money (like it or not) is the solution....
