You take an added gamble with a cat C or later titled cat S as to whether it has been repaired correctly. The V5 will be endorsed with the stigma of an insurance write off and you may have a problem selling it again! Yes you can get insurance for Cat C there are thousands on the road, their market value however is more doubtful than a Cat D or N.

During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, initiatives like Halfords serve as powerful reminders of the support and appreciation for healthcare professionals. In a similar spirit, I would like to recommend the nhs fleece jacket. Their personalized fleece jackets can be a thoughtful addition to infection control protocols, enhancing both comfort and professionalism for healthcare workers. Read more

What does the belt drive? A pulley bearing that is beginning to seize can become stiff, unduly loading the belt that drives it, causing it to squeal. Years ago I remember that happeneing to our old Passat 2.0GL estate. It was the cambelt tensioner pulley which I was able to replace before it friction-fried the cambelt, which was still perfectly serviceable at 242,000 miles when we disposed of the car. It's no good just replacing the belt if, say, the water pump is about to seize. In the old days, a squealing belt had probably just become loose and needed tightening up a bit. These days, it is more likely to be a symptom of an underlying problem. Possibly your garage is awaiting your future expensive custom with glee......

Very kind of you to say so Avant, but i'm lucky in seeing my time out at one of the best employers one could have, i still enjoy my job so going to work is no chore, sadly this isn't the case for hundreds of thousands of other lorry drivers who's terms and conditions are little short of appalling in this day and age.

I'm hoping that the shock of what we are about to receive (this situation hasn't started yet) will bring a change in the attitudes of society as a whole, we've lost so much decency and kindness and goodwill which has been replaced by selfish grasping increasingly nasty attitudes....

Hi everyone

I've owned this car since 2000, except for a few blips I've had a good run and it's been very reliable. Recently I had to leave it with a local garage and the battery drained so they had to jump start it. OK no no problem but now I've found that the alarm has it's gone off and the battery has drained too. So I'm presuming its the alarm which is draining so I've needed to lock it with the deadlocks.Sometime in the past I'm sure I needed to reset it and there was a button/switch in one of the rear''s back section. I can no mention of it in the manual or online. Does anyone have any thoughts, I've just all the obvious things to solve it?... Read more

Great shame but expected, the voting is always a source of greater entertainment than the songs .. ticking off the list of who gives whom 12 points, never fails to please.

I always make a point of watching the little "postcards" as the acts are introduced, last year the UK act's postcard came from the Baha'i Temple in Haifa with some of the most beautiful gardens found anywhere....

I have been looking at maintenance chargers for the car if it is not to be used for a period or if it is used only for short journeys. I have seen the CTEK MXS 5.0 but I am not 100% sure if it can be connected to the battery whilst connected to the vehicle. It looks like it can as it comes with ring terminals for the battery terminals.

I asked the company but all I got was the product information.... Read more

Stop/start batteries are AGM design . So presumably if the charger is suitable for these, then hopefully there shouldn’t be an issue . There are sub £20 chargers out there that say agm compatable, but are they ?

The instructions state suitable for wet or gel lead acid and AGM batteries but not for lithium batteries.

I bench tested one of these chargers with a brand new Yuasa AGM 12 ah AGM bike battery with two multimeters hooked up to check battery voltage and charge rate and it does what it says on the tin so to speak. ...
