Good to hear you like the car Don.

The motoring press may not think much of the Korando, but owner reviews paint a different picture..........!

Confidence will not return to the car market unless and until there is certainty about the way forward, and that depends on governments worldwide. Meanwhile drivers will hang onto their existing cars.
Many older drivers like myself are reluctant to change for another reason. They do not want or understand the bewildering amount of "tech" built into most new cars, some of which is downright dangerous, such as the over reliance on touchscreen menus.
If smaller manufacturers follow Ford's lead and reduce their dealer networks, it could mean longer journeys for service and repairs. Read more

I hope they close the Ford dealership in Yorkshire that forgot to put oil in my Mondeos gearbox after changing a clutch for the second time at 23000 miles!

Quite ironic that my local Esso filling station just raised, not lowered their prices across the board to 2p a litre from 122p for petrol to 124p/ltr. The local Tesco did not though, staying at 121.9p/ltr. Read more

Evening all, new member on the forum. Can I ask peoples thoughts on the vw cc? It's a 2016 2L TDI with 25k on the clock. If maintained should it make 200k plus with proper maintenance? Read more

6,000 a year in a modern diesel won't have been beneficial. EGR, turbo vanes and DPF may all have suffered,

If you intend covering 50,000 a year it may well reach 200,000. If you intend continuing doing 6,000 a year probably not.

The Mg has gone to the servicing MG dealer who have paid me £8675 today,(they had offered me £8500 as a trade in in dec2019.. make of that what you will. so my losses at getting it at a healthy price in the first place aren't too bad after all.

New Kia comes Tuesday as the salesman has 12 to hand over Monday, and he is very grateful for my understanding. Read more

A question for Old.Roverboy. In your list of positives you have an alloy wheel for £132.

That appears to be a bargain price..... have you then got to buy a tyre and jack+ wheel brace at additional cost ?

New scientific research has shown what many of us suspected: the probability of a car stopping for an occupied zebra crossing is inversely proportional to the value of the vehicle. A University of Helsinki study found that (quote) self-centred men who are argumentative, stubborn, disagreeable and lacking in empathy are much more likely to own a high-status car such as an Audi, BMW or Mercedes (end quote). All German cars, which is possibly significant?

All mine have been French ..... :-) Read more

Brake checked, tailgated, undertaken \ overtaken dangerously, cut up, had the car Im passing speed up as I do so or had the 'v' or 'the bird' flicked at me, had drivers not stop at mini roundabouts or giveway junctions by drivers of Fords, Vauxhalls, Hondas, Citroen, Renaults, Nissan, Kia, Hyundai etc, etc?...

Round here, NE Derbyshire and beyond, there seems to have been a campaign to alter road signs to 3Q and 5Q. From a post elsewhere this would confuse certain Teslas. Is there any point apart from plain mischief? Read more

My 2005 Audi A8 is in need of new brake pads. On U-tube the fronts look as easy to do as any other pad change, but the rears apparently need electronic deactivation of the EPB otherwise you knacker the mechanism when winding back the caliper pistons. This means locating and downloading software onto a receptive laptop to interrogate the car's computer via an appropriately plugged cable which I do not possess. I suppose I could obtain one, but even with the help of U-tube it might exceed my electronic capability, the threshold of which, as I suspect for most septuagenarians, is set quite low.. Ho hum, a job for my indie, methinks. Such is 'progress'. Read more

Neighbour has one on his Jag, Car had broken down and brought back to the house on a recovery truck. But the car battery had gone flat - so the handbrake was stuck on, also stuck in Park, and couldn't get the boot open to get to the battery to jump start. The truck blocked my driveway for 4 hours while the recovery company sought assistance and the Jag hund half way on and half way off the truck..

Then a local 10 year old lad said - "since the drivers door is open, why don't you just fold the back seat down and get to the battery that way.?" ...
