ICE cars accounts to classics going back over a hundred years but what about modern EV/Hybrids classics in say 2050?
Considering that EV's and to a lesser degree hybrids has a fairly expensive batteries that probably will see them biting the dust in the first 30 years of ownership will these ever gain classic status in vast numbers like say a Morris Minor etc? Read more
I saw one of these in the metal today. What an ugly car. It was coming the other way in stop start traffic so couldn't see inside, but it looked massive, disproportionately so and very high.

Its that big grille that does it. A 20th century design that doesn't work on a 21st century car, yet they insist on keeping it.
I am beginning to accumulate car parking apps and would welcome others experiences .Here are some of mine.... Read more
The multiplicity of apps is a pain, but we have to live with it. Plus there’s less risk of keying in wrong reg no. My pet hate for parking is Apoca at Oxford station, the code on the platform easy to bypass and ignore.
I have all my travel related apps in one folder rather than spread over several screens.

I have two cars where insurance is due for renewal on 29th March. I am going on holiday for an extended period, mid Feb to early April and my insurer will not issue renewal docs any more than 30 days ahead of renewal. We will be out of the country all of the thirty day period.
I have tried getting quotes from other insurers but all seem to be exercising the same 30 day rule. Any advice??????????????? Read more
The vast majority of car insurance policies from the big players auto renew, as long as they have valid card details or a direct debit mandate.
Other than a quick check of the email to check they haven't ramped the price up massively, I've not actively done anything to renew my car insurance in about the last 4-5 years....
My battery is showing it's age and have been deciding on it's replacement.
I am a great believer in having power in reserve and after a bit of research I read on one site that it was a worthwhile upgrade fitting an AGM battery if you are not doing many miles and mostly short runs. ... Read more
Don't AGM batteries need a slightly different charging regime? If your car's system isn't set up for them it could shorten its life. You might be better off with an enhanced flooded type.

Hi, im looking for some advice on the new vauxhall combo cargo vans. Basically im thinking of getting one and wonder what peoples thoughts are on the quality of these vans; are the engines all that good, the general build quality ect. Im toying with the idea of getting a petrol over a diesel mostly because it will be used for fairly short runs around town and I dont need any particulate filter issues in the future, Anyone have one/ driven one, what do you think of them and are they worth the !0 - 12 K that they can be had for now.
Thanks all, any advice is welcome, great forum btw Read more
