So after recently having new discs and pads, I have found that the N/S front calliper is a little sticky and gets very hot after a few miles on an A road drive. It got to the point where after about 5 mins up the motorway the steering wheel began to judder, and even more so after braking.

I'm not the slightest bit interested in any argument from AA, RAC, IAM, Brake, ROSPA or anyone else. I'm right and I've proved it and anyone who ignores me could be the next to cause an unnecessary death. That's some chain you're yanking on! ;) Read more
I started my driving career on scooter / motorcycles. Changing over to cars in the late sixties. The first few cars were manuals. In the early eighties I moved over to auto's and remained there ever since. I have always LFB. It's quickly and IMHO safer
I don't see why someone would even consider buying used tyres. You wouldn't buy shoes with half worn soles, right? Read more
A bit too low is 1.6mm. By then the tread is almost indistinguishable. But tread is really for the rain in the UK . Dry roads need no treads otherwise why are racing cars not fitted with deep tread?
Clean simplicity - oh look, another person saying about emissions and power at power stations needed to produce electricity for electric cars!
But the person seems to think his petrol, diesel or LPG comes out of the ground in that state and doesnt take into account the emissions and power needed at the refinery to produce the fuel for their ICE car! Read more

A few weeks ago my engine malfunction light came on and I took the car to the garage. The fault showed a problem with the cam sensor which was replaced. The following day the car wouldn't start (turning over but not firing). A few hours later it started. This has happened a couple of times since and when the car does start it often turns over for at least 5 seconds before starting. The problem is always on a cold engine or standing for at least 24hrs. If it's been driven for a while or the same day it starts ok.
I've taken it back to the garage who did the original work and also another garage but it was starting ok and they couldn't find a fault. Before having the work done it started fine.... Read more
Thanks for replying. I had to call the RAC out once when it didn't start but of course started as soon as the engineer arrived so his diagnostic didn't bring anything up. He did suggest there are often problems with the timing chain but he didn't think it was the issue as there is no rattling when the engine is running. I'll have s look in to swapping the sensors as suggested.

Perhaps it's to cater for the US market where so many of the population are somewhat more.... er..... portly.
Why not call them fat bar-stewards.
Don't understand the battery tray bit but it doesn't SOUND relevant.
I'm told internal breakdown in hose linings can produce a situation where it acts as a non-return flap valve (like those in veins, I suppose) which causes the brake to lock on. ...
