My wife's sister in the UK has some serious problems with her right arm caused by a pinched nerve. She cannot grip well with her right hand so steering is difficult to impossible depending on how bad the problem is on a daily basis - it varies. She is having physio and painkillers if needed. As her problem has happened recently she is not registered disabled.

She lost her husband about a year ago so has to drive sometimes to maintain a normal lifestyle - shopping etc.... Read more

I've noticed on the BBC news website that Renault is considering killing of diesel engines - Is this the beginning of the end for diesel cars?

I can't somehow see this happenng -it's unlikely that Renault will cease making diesels because the current French car market is about 75-80% diesel engined cars....

Thank you for your reply. It's the first time I buy a used car, so I am a bit worried.

I'm 70 yrs old (though not decrepit yet!) and now need an automatic after many years of successful buying of old motors and cheap motoring. Having been through a very traumatic series of events recently I want a convertible to cheer myself up. Has anyone any thoughts on this? £1500 is my very, very top price.

I appreciate this is a pretty tall order and you can't get a Ford Focus convertible but everyone else in immediate family happily drive Focuses (Focii?!) so I suppose that'd be the "sensible" option but I will be very appreciative of any comments or thoughts by others. Many thanks. Read more

I had a C70 T5GT coupe (manual box) back in the late 90s. Stunning car. Beautiful to drive. Spacious for 4, decent boot. It ate front tyres, however, but all the 850 / S70 / V70 variants did. But even when relatively new it only did 25mpg. So expect 20mpg or so from one that's the thick end of 20 years old.

Can you please help & advise the exact rear location of the live supply cable. I have removed both left side lamp assembly & inside boot panel & cannot find the live cable for the tow relay. Many thanks Colin Allen Read more

Any gardeners on the forum please - it seems we have an infestation of Chafer Bugs in our fairly new (2 1/2 year old) lawn. I am told that the previous chemical treatments that were available to get rid of these creatures are no longer sold due to EU/HSE decree, and all that remains is treatment by Nemotodes which I understand is slow, uncertain and expensive.

With the wealth of knowledge and expertise on this forum we wondered if anyone might have any tips or suggestions as to what we might do ?

Thanks,

Notsure. Read more
