Sorry, but we cannot do 'V' serial numbers. You need one of the paid online services, or a Ford dealer.

Hi, I recently had a delivery van back into the rear of my car which was stationary in a car park at my office. I was not inside the car and it was all captured on CCTV. The delivery driver admired fault and I passed on all of my details to my insurance. The company he works also admit fault. My car is now with Nationwide being repaired and I have a courtesy car, my excess was waived. I have had non stop phone calls and letters from a solicitors firm called Carpenters who say that my details were passed onto them from my solicitors. From what I understand they rack up huge bills and have very bad reviews. My question is neither of us suffered injuries and both cars had minimal damage why would I need to go with them??? Doesn't my insurer just get costs and my excess paid from the third party's solicitor??? Thanks if anyone can help. Read more

Hi all, I've been thumbing through Autotrader and have noticed a few MB C180 petrol models, around 2010, are within my price range. I have a couple of questions if I may? A) does anyone have any experience of owning/running one? B) is the 'German build quality' more myth than fact? C) I notice that the C180s make about 160bhp? Do they all have a supercharger fitted to produce this amount of bhp from a 1.8? My commute will be a 7 mile commute with some congestion, so I'm only looking at petrol models. I've read HJ's reviews but would be interested to hear if anyone has any hands-on experience. Thanks all! Read more

I also like the idea of a petrol C Class (currently have an A180 CDi and a 350 SLK).

Research the engines well. The C180 between 2008 and 2013 had several different engines including a supercharged 1.8, a turbocharged 1.6 and latterly a turbocharged 1.8 (I think this was the Blue Efficiency). All had 154/156 BHP and all were called C180!

Should I buy a Skoda Superb Outdoor Plus 2015 model which requires modification due to emissions scandal and will its future resale value be affected. Is it better to pay via PCP as I was going to pay cash. Read more

This is not strictly accurate.

PCP is a route to purchase (Personal Contract Purchase)...

I had a 2001 316ti from new which I kept for 3 years.

In that time the fly-by-wire accelerator pedal had to be replaced, one of the telescopic struts that hold up the rear hatch broke off, and a rear coil spring snapped in half. All were replaced under warranty....

Well done to PSA Group, Peugeot, Citroen and DS for releasing real-world tested economy figures I wonder ow long it will take others to follow. More importantly how soon will goverments agree real-world testing is needed and thereafter enforce this kind of testing. Read more

Bravo PSA.

Good move as not only will it allow customers to see a realistic and not misleading set of economy figures so they can know what to expect, but it also steals a march on all other manufacturers.

Firstly, not sure if correct sub-forum, sorry if it isn't.

I learnt to drive on a 15 plate Corsa which had little "mirrors" in the wing mirrors, it helped A LOT with parking, but I think the actual purpose is for blind spots. I really need to install one of those on my Fiesta as my eyes aren't the sharpess (even when working my contact lenses), atm I can't park to save my life.... Read more

I have to say that your first post begs the question whether you can read a number plate from 20 metres.

Hi!
Just purchased a second hand car with a 3.0 diesel engine and 240ps. I know that some cars have a declared oil consumtion. While on my vw I top it up with 1liter every 5-6000km, the BMW seems to be more thirsty with 1liter every 800-1000km. The engine seems to be in good health with no bluish smoke at the tailpipe, but are there any known problems to this specific engine or manufacturer? From what I.ve seen if i havent missed anything, no seals are leaking.
Thank you! Read more

You have illustrated my point, manufacturers claim the boxes to be sealed for life. Yes the life is 60k. Regular changes will extend this considerably as your contact rightly recommends
