Hello,
I have an issue with my 2010 Astra over the last few days I have had trouble getting it started in the morning. I noticed that temperature goes straight to about 1/3 of the way up before the engine has even started, then when i turn the key it starts but then stutters and dies a few seconds later. After about 5 or 6 goes it will start.... Read more

Hmm not my experience, I've been stopped soon after Calais and been given the once over and they were very particular about the high vis vests for 4 of us in the right place, the beam stickers and asked me to turn the lights on and held their clipboard infront, I didn't see how that worked but they insisted. They also checked that I had a letter from the company authorising me to drive the car as well as usual driving licence, triangle basically eveything. Got done for speeding near Bordeaux a few years before that and same again, a very thorough check of all my paperwork and bits and pieces, 90 euros and a badly scrawled "receipt" and they chose not to speak much English! Beware and don't invite trouble.

It's widely considered the best city car available and has been around now for 12 months. Does anyone have any ownership experience of the new I10? Read more
Had mine for 6 months now and really impressed - feels like a car 1 size up. Replaced a new shape Polo and apart from lack of soft touch plastics [ Don't really care ] feels a better car and very pleasant to drive. Mine is premium automatic which has an 'old fashioned' torque converter auto box which is less efficient than DSG's etc but much cheaper and very good to drive. My mileage is only about 7K a year so higher fuel consumption less of a 'problem' and greater chance of relability ?
my opel vectra 2.5 v6 model: 2002 is giveng me a problem of misfiring on coil 5 & showing ETC on display. have changed coil park and it has failed to perform well. what could the problem on this car? Read more
Is the coil switching, and does it have a voltage supply? If yes then the coil, lead or spark plug maybe the problem. If no then it maybe a wiring or ECM fault.
I wish I still had the promo material for the brilliant zetec/yamaha engine when it came out. It originally promised the belt was, "for life" although later this was changed and replacement recommended in every reducing intervals. Still plenty of used and abused examples around well over 150,000 miles and appear to suffer no ill effects.
The new ecoboost engine will really frighten the luddites though. Buried deep in the engine and actually running through the oil-filled sump!
