my opel vectra 2.5 v6 model: 2002 is giveng me a problem of misfiring on coil 5 & showing ETC on display. have changed coil park and it has failed to perform well. what could the problem on this car?

You should try a compression check. Compression testers are not expensive if you wanted to carry out the test yourself.
You will get accurate information on the condition of each cylinder.

How about spark plug or lead problem?You will need to remove the inlet manifold for access.Also check the 6 interconnecting rubber tubes for splits or cracks.

Is the coil switching, and does it have a voltage supply? If yes then the coil, lead or spark plug maybe the problem. If no then it maybe a wiring or ECM fault.
