Toyota are launching a facelift version in April of the Rav4,the second facelift in 9 months-is this some sort of record for facelifts?.If I bought the new version last July I dont' think I would happy to see another version out so soon.Must admit the new version looks alot better it has the Avensis type 'face' on it now. Well, for starters if you bought the face lift model last year that is due to become the 'old' model and surely that will have an adverse effect on your re-sale value.Would HJ agree?.

Why? Because he assumed it would not let him set it to his old password immediately for security reasons. But at least the site made us change passwords after the downtime - a very good idea.

What annoys me are work related systems insisting you change password every 4-6 weeks and remembering a years worth. So my password ends up less secure than the very secure one I used to have. a word yes but spelt with some numbers and special characters instead of l3tt3r5.

And why does the background for car reviews alternate between grey and white?

The Skoda Octavia one does anyway. Maybe it is just my old eyes. ;>(

After 6 happy years as the owner of a Mk1 Focus Ghia I have moved up in the world to a land of parking sensors, abs and cd changers with the purchase of a 2006 Skoda Octavia. As this site wasnt available I took advice at Briskoda (almost as friendly as here IMO) and so far everything is going swimmingly.

I'm sure someone will tell me I bought the wrong one, but I thing the 2.0 Fsi Elegance is right for my needs. Best of all, it hasnt got ESP, so at least I wont be getting a bill for fixing that in the near future! Read more

No, I'd say you did the right thing! Best of luck with it.

Hi,

Having sold our Xsara Exclusive with the faulty climate control we have agreed to purchase a 1997 Rover 400 which comes up as a GDSi when insurance checked. According to Parkers specification guide it should have a CD autochanger fitted. Now i didn't spot this when looking at the car, does anyone know where it should be fitted in the car?... Read more

I agree with GordonBennett. I would rather buy a car with a worn out set of Michelin's, Continental's etc (and pay £200 less) than with new cheapo tyres. I would likely remove any cheapo tyres and replace with a pukka make.

I am currently looking for a car and have walked away from an otherwise decent looking car because it had 4 odd tyres (and only 14k miles by the way) - there were also questions about the service history, but it is all a part of the story that the car tells, and I need to follow my "bladder feeling"!...

My car was recently only getting around 23 mpg driving locally, not traffic jams. At 37 mpg combined official I'd expected about 30 mpg. The car had been serviced, oil and filters, and is runnning fine. I've always use supermarket unleaded but decided to try BP superunleaded. I also put in some redex fuel/additive injector cleaner. Its only been a few days but I've noticed the fuel gauge not moving down as fast compared to before. Its too early to tell whether the mpg has increased and whether the slow moving fuel gauge is just psychological. Would putting in redex and superunleaded help mpg? Is it better to use just one rather than both, would superunleaded have redex agents in already? I've heard redex cleans the injectors? The cars done 103k miles. I haven't noticed an increase in performance. Read more

The car runs smoothly and I drive normally changing at 2-2.5K rpm. I will wait and see.
