BBC has been forecasting this for a couple of days now but Wales and Northern Midlands look to be in line for more snow.

Spades, blankets and wellies in the boot the ready, mobiles fully charged, you know the drill.

This guy is forecasting an extended rough start for the new year in many parts

I've seen these cars in usa. I could pick it up and eat it.

What LPG system do you have?
It seems remarkable that this problem can happen. The LPG should have valves that only open when then the LPG is in use, For both the petrol ECU to be working at the same time as the LPG ECU seems odd.

Depends who made the system:

Least said, soonest mended I find, but I just know I'm going to blurt this out one day soon and then live to regret it.

Could it be she was taking the opportunity, an a near empty verpark without an audience, to practice in an attempt to make perfect?

Much like those backroomers who have been practising their snow skills in car parks? :)

Hi everyone,

My Fabia has a big problem after starting from cold, particularly when it's damp. The engine runs extremely roughly and the whole car vibrates, with a strong smell of petrol. Give it even a bit of gas and the engine struggles to keep going. Try to drive anywhere and there's a lot of fumes and no power to get going properly. (Once the engine warms up, there's no problem at all and the car runs beautifully). I had the coolant temp sensor replaced a year ago which seemed to improve things slightly, but now the problem is back with a vengeance.

Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated!

Cheers

Correction: the S4 was £5k more, but not as well equipped. Add the extra features that the Insignia has as standard and the difference would be WAY more than £5k...

Hi,
I have a 2002 Focus Focus TDCI, which has developed an odd
fault.
When I switch the ignition off, the Fuel & Temperature gauges go to
the halfway position (normally they park at zero)
When the ignition is on, the gauges return to zero then work normally.
There is a post (morrisoxford 24 dec 2007), but no fix given.
Anyone help please! Read more

I thought the £100 charge included labour, however I could be wrong. I had exactly the same problem with my 2003 Focus, just before the 3 year Ford warranty ended, I had the panel replaced free of charge, after complaining 3 times!

Afternoon Backroomers,

Those of you who retain useless information may recall that I used to have a Shogun... Well with 3 kids now the Vectra is getting difficult (5months, 3 years and 4 years old mean that the youngest has to be lifted out of the middle...). Therefore I am looking at potentially:-

Buying another Shogun (new shape, 2008).

But can't really afford to fuel it for work purposes (32k per annum)

So thinking of buying a banger, however has to be respectable (work policy is 5years, 5 seats less than 100k but am prepared to ignore these as long as it looks okay!!).

Any suggestions - I've seen the Kia Picanto 1.1 - 55mpg average? It won't get used for really long trips, I'd take the Shogun for that, but it will get used for a 70 mile commute, consisting of the A456 from West of Bewdley through to Blakedown, up through Belbroughton to the M5, North to West Bromwich (I realise this means nothing to you if you are in Liverpool, London or Lanarkshire, but in effect it is every type of road - 60mph country, dual carriageway, motorway and general city)

Anyone want to throw some suggestions in the pot - I've got about £2k to play with, and am also considering panel damaged vehicles... Read more

As usual, some good comments back.

I realised that I missed some key points:-

The Vectra is a company car inc free fuel for private miles
The reason its not big enough is that the only way to get all the seats in is with baby in the middle

Cost wise, the Shogun is up at £12.5k.

Will have a look at the Magentis, or the VAG is a good call, maybe a Bora. Sold my 150bhp Golf (04 53) with 151k just over a year ago for £3k, that would be ideal...!
