Maybe this is meant to read:
I got my new car today, a Suzuki Jimny JLX. It is nice and all black on a 59 plate but I have scrapped my Land Rover Discovery as trade in for this - poor old car.
Can people post in English in future? My version is what I think flamingo is saying. In future if posts make no sense I might delete them.

Can anybody give me some advice, i have a Mercedes A140 A Class, on a 53 plate, and i need to get a Splash Guard/Inner wheel arch..
Is there anywhere i can go in the UK to get this part, in the UK.
Also i have had the car for 4 months, and i have no manuals/service books etc with the car, so i ordered a Haynes Manual but what i really need is a description of what the lights mean on the dash board... where can i find this from?
Any useful comments will be appreciated.

Mercedes main dealer will get you the right part that will fit and at probably the best price. Probably the only thing that Mercedes do well is parts.
Also i have had the car for 4 months and i have no manuals/service books
Try main dealer for a 'bookpack' or Ebay 'bookpack' 'handbook'.

By all means if one is giving you technical or usability problems, then mention it. Sometimes they are troublesome and we don't always know.
If you have a problem with them, such as making your system crash, please don't moan in the forums. Instead, e-mail directly to Honest John at letters@honestjohn.co.uk or moderators@honestjohn.co.uk and one of us will refer your e-mail on to the media agency in the hope something can be done to fix the problem.

I suspect it's an incompatibly issue with an advert requiring Adobe Flash. What can happen is it's tested on the latest browsers for stability, but not on older versions.
I'll pass this onto the relevant person(s) to investigate.

Hi,
[1] what is the forums view on the effectiveness or otherwise of steering wheel based security devices, e.g. Stoplock.
Are they proven as deterrant
Are they proven to actually be thief proof
Are there any particularly good/bad ones - hows about the Stoplock Ultima?
Something really quick and easy to put on/off is essential of course, if it is a complete pain, it will be too frustating and won't get used.
[2] After market electronic devices such as immobilisers? anythin especially good? Trackers are OK, but only useful if the car is stolen, I would prefer to prevent the initial theft with the right devices.

Thanks BB - I am sure your post helps. People think that with chip and pin their money is safe too but give me a card for 30 seconds and I can later get money from it. Obviously I won't but my point is nothing is as safe as it should be!
Ok
We are due to pick up our car from MCO on saturday afternoon thier time and we have taken out the top insurance whih is platinum...car company usa rentacar for budget rentacar.
Now in the past they have tried to force us into additional insurance for breakdown or assistance in replacing a tyre after a flat.
Can they do this legally in the USA,? Can they be forced to assist if needed if we dont take out this insurance? afterall we beleived the top insurance is all we need for peice of mind!

Last time in florida we booked a car but luckily through Virgin atlantic. We had a flat tyre and the girl on the hire car company phone was quite aggressive in telling me I had to pay. I refused so to do and complained to Virgin. Ten minutes later I was taken to an hotel and given a decent upgrade for free and told byVirgin that American hire car companies will take you for everything they can but would not take a chance on losing Virgin contracts.
I am looking around for a small car with
1. powersteering
2.cheap (no more than £2,000)
3. small as poss' !!
any ideas welcome. no links or adverts please. Read more

"What about your chances of dying in an airplane crash? A one-year risk of one
in 400 000 and one in 5 000 lifetime risk."
This is scary. I haven't been in an aeroplane for 15 years, but I still stand a 1-5,000 risk of being killed in a plane crash. This presumably because one could fall out of the sky and squash me while I am asleep in my bed.
However, if I flew in planes more often, then I'd used up more of my risks in a few short flights, and that sounds quite attractive. I think it'd be much better to have a few one-hour doses of being scared witless in an aircraft seat so that I could be safer in my bed at night for the rest of the year. ;-)

I have inherited a 207 petrol m:play that is due for it's first service as it will be 2 years old
it has only done 4,000 miles and there is no need for an oil change ( has passed by finger test ! ) I phone the main dealer and asked if he would do the First Service without the oil change~~ he agreed that it probably did not need an oil change but said that is what the First Service consisted of and without it he would not stamp by warranty book~~so £190 quid for something that does not need doing! Advice anyone? Read more
Often the service schedule states mileage or 1 year, whichever comes first. For the sake of preserving the warranty, get the security of an official service stamp. Also helps when selling on. Essentially. you're paying an annual insurance premium for the first 3 years, less the cost of oil and a filter, oh and not forgetting the obligatory washer bottle refill.......
Today, a highly visible Police Volvo was sited alongside a 40mph dual carriageway near me, on the approach to a roundabout. On my outward journey the capture was a silver Mercedes. On my return, the capture was .... wait for it, another silver Mercedes! Waiting in line for his spanking was the driver of an Audi ..... yes, a silver one!

I have a 173hp xtrail, having had the old 136hp i find towing that i am having to change down more often than i would with my old xtrail.
The new xtrail is slightly higher geared, and 100kg heavier but with 266 lb/ft i feel that it should actually tow better than the old model, i only have 4k on the engine also.
How ever i have noticed that the number under the vin number (on the numerous stickers), says 150, my question could this refer to the 150hp engine option, or does it mean something else?
