What should I do ?
{Well you could read the email I sent you some 3½ hrs ago informing you that I moved the question to the Discussion side of the forum where vehicle-related feedback is best asked. If your registered email address is no longer valid, can I ask that you update it via the 'My Settings' option - thanks} Read more

Hello
I just bought one last night and went to pull the flap ,no go so unlocked it with 2 beeps and put the key in the IG and bingo it opened
Have not had it 5minuetes so have not had a proper chance to check it all out ,hope this helps .
I live in the UK and saw an 06 Ford Focus 1.6 (115 bhp) LX with 30 000 miles at my local Ford dealer. The asking price was £6499. As my budget is £5000 plus my 1999 T reg Ford Focus they said that they would give me £1200 for my old car which would reduce the price to £5299. I then managed to get the price down to exactly £5000.
However I do have doubts about something. The car has had 1 lady owner and when I asked the sales man about service history he said that it had been serviced in 07 and in 09. It appears at this stage that the car did not undergo any service last year (in 08) so you can't really say it has a "full service history."
I am worried about parting with my money with this knowledge as oil and filter changes are so important.

.......... when I asked the sales man about service history he said that it had been

Ask to see the car's "Service History Log" booklet for proof of what servicing the car has received. The car's "Warranty and Service Guide" will show you what work should have been carried out. Get it straight from the horses's mouth.
I have purchased a 3 Series and have noticed an intermittent issue when changing gear and the red light flashing on, its the engine light (in the middle with a battery. Then tonight on the way home from work, the seemed to loose power when pulling away and just died. It started up straight away - I called the garage but cant get it in till next week.
Any ideas on a possible problem? Read more
Have a similar issue . Battery light comes on fro a split second and is associated with a drop in Revs.
Ran the car with a voltmeter on for a while and could see the discernable drop in voltage output
Asked a trusted garage to check Alternatior , Drive belt and battery - all are fine. I have followed this up with a visual check of my own - thats fine too
Lokking at the charging system wiring diagram, the alternatior feeds batterery power to the battery via the starter motor - The immobiliser hangs off that and i have a sneaky suspicion about it, becuase the alarm has been going off recently too. Other than that , im scratching my head too
Evening,
My 1149cc recently passed its MOT no issues, within a few weeks i started noticing a petrol smell from the rear of the car.
It only seems to happen after a journey of any length and the smell appears to come from the rear arch by the filler cap, no leaking or losing petrol is evident, visible fuel pipes seem ok and dry.
The smell is not evident within 30 mins of journey ending, fuel pump or fuel filter attached to tank is dry.
Anyone experience any filler neck problem with this car.
Thanks Read more
well, I am on my third part which now appears to be the correct one, all the attachments are still connected, I took apart a fuel pipe connector on broken part that i could keep and the fitting seems to have a solid metal ring that grips one way. I have dug out the pieces of broken plastic pipe from my fittings so I still have options.
So, I tried softening a piece of fuel line off the broken part in hot water, no difference, it stayed quite hard. I'm now worried that if cut my fuel lines and try and insert them on to the nozzles on the replacement parts fuel connector nozzles i'll hit trouble.
Has anyone got experience of getting these type of fittings off a clio fuel sender/pump before i make a hash of it!
Thanks
Hi, just reading your post, bascially i brought a 03 fiesta from northampton auction about 4 weeks ago, it has done 70,000 miles and yesterday, the cam belt broke and i had to be towed by the AA to a garage. Im just wondering would this fiesta be under warranty or not.
Moved from a long dead thread to a standalone thread - engine type ? Read more
Its one of the joys of buying at auction at trade prices against trade buyers who have to do the cambelt prior to selling if they think its going to be a warranty issue in the forseable future
why didnt you have the belt done soon after purchase if you werent sure if it had ever been done?
we in the trade have a get out clause for this kind of thing if we block a dud, its called caveat umpar, you im afraid are the caveat and youve been umpt
sorry
Discovered the following video of a crazy chap attaining some crazy speeds on the M1 and M6 motorways.

It is not just the speeds he is driving at, but the way he shows scant regard for other road users with his ducking and diving. What kind of punishment would await him if he were caught? I ask as I have travellend in a car (as a passenger) at close to these speeds and have often wondered what kind of repercussions there would be if the driver was caught.

And there was that superb Indian fellow the other day reclining on his low-powered motorbike with his feet up and one hand behind his head, on the phone with the other, while driving along a busyish Indian dual carriageway.
Chapeau!
Why do people complain when there's something amusing on the road? It's as if they enjoyed being bored.
Hello there, I have just started to have trouble with the above. On lowering the roof, the motor makes a real struggling sound to start with and even more recently, I have noticed it is opening and closing much more slowly than usual. Is this the motor that is burning out or could there be some other problem? Is there anywhere in the York area (other than a VW dealer) that could advise. Thanks!! Read more
Just a quick email to thank you for such a quick and accurate diagnosis of my motorised roof problem. It appears after following your instructions, it is functioning as normal again and hopefully, will carry on doing so in order that I might escape an expensive repair??
