Hi
Looking at an MPV second hand with a budget of £2k.
What is the difference between the Scenic and Megane Scenic?
Cheers in advance Read more
My exhaust which is the original is blowing like mad at the front pipe/cat join. Bought a front pipe, cat and middle section and a back box (complete lot) for 180 inc vat. Fitting on Monday.
Am i to see any benefit from this? (MPG/performance) I have notice that the car seems sluggish lately or is it just the noise thats fooling me?
And would an air filter change help at same time?

Walker, Arvin Timax and Bosal are all much the same. Walker and Arvin Timax are big American multi-nationals and Bosal is a big Dutch multinational. They all supply to the OE market - but their OE exhausts are made to higher standards than their aftermarket ones. The real question is how long is it guaranteed? They normally last a bit longer than the warranty!
Hi All
Can anyone recommend a sat nav for reliability and ease of use,I'm looking at thr Garmin Nuvi 250 for about £170. I will use it this summer for going to France but i have no experience of any Sat navs.
Any tips appreciated
Cheers

I am very pleased with the TomTom ONE I got a year ago. It occasionally gets a bit flummoxed by back alleys in Yorkshire cities (thinks they are roads), but otherwise it's hardly ever wrong, and it's v easy to use. Just be aware that it comes without a case, and is at risk of getting scratched: I bought a ice leather one on Ebay for a lot less that TomTom's own overpriced offerings
With all of the unusually warm summers for the last 3 years or so, I am constantly wondering if I should get a convertible?
Do lots of miles (Like1,000 miles a week), up and down motorways.
Seems like I could get some kind of perverse pleasure out of getting a sun tan whilst driving on company business.
Point is, would I get sick of the noise and wind?
Have tried open cars out on a number of occasions, but only for a short stint, where the novelty value helps you to ignore the downsides.
How practical would one be, long term? Read more
Hi DrS, A few years ago I had a mint Xr3i con, and I found it great on the motorway, even on a dry cool day with the heater blowing into the foot-well. I also had a b.m.w. Z3 which nearly blew me out of it, it was that bad. cheers, Graham.
When were first Escort Van Turbo Diesels produced circa 1994 and what was their model name/number.

My girlfriend wants to know, who are the people that have had their shoes abandoned on the motorway? Not all of them can be debris left as the result of an accident.
If you have been a victim of the phantom flip-flop flinger, or the perpetrator, let us know.
Also, do you find yourself driving along checking the gutter for the next few miles trying to find a matching shoe?

Shoes are always the last bits to go. Look at that photograph taken on the Titanic exploration - just a couple of boots on the seabed.
After years of telling us we motorists are worse than child-killers, the lentil chewer in chief has bought himself a car.
A fistful of excuses as to why he needs one of course. He thinks coaches are ok for the poor and the unemployed, but not for a busy and important person like himself. Sorry about the link to The Times, but it is worth it for the breathtaking hypocrisy of one of the foremost ( yeah we get the point - PU)

Oh well, last day of the two week break to Brittany, and going home is always the bit I hate. However, as I have mentioned previously, Norfolk Lines is the chosen carrier these days for my all too infrequent sojourns to France.
They have free WiFi on board. How cool is that? That is how I am sitting here alerting you back roomers to this fact. Helps the two hour journey go quickly.
Food? Piping hot, simple and tasty. SWIAOWAMODFM (work that one out!) had a very nice Lamb Shank, mustard mash and mushy peas, whilst I had a large steak and kidney pudding with same accompaniaments.
Lots of seats vacant as there was next to nobody on board, despite seeming to load hundreds of cars and lorries.
We arrived early and caught the 2pm instead of the 4pm boat. They used to charge to change your travel arrangements, but in light of stiff competition, they have dropped that if you take the boat before or the boat after your booked one. But as we had booked in December last year, we could have come as early or as late as we lliked.
Who ever gets the return ferry they had booked? I always say that I will take my time on the return journey, cruise at a steady 60 with 8 or 10hrs to spare for the 350 mile journey, will stop off at an Intermarche for some last minute stuff like custard flan, a few more bottle of Pelforth Brun, nice leisurely lunch.....but then drive like a demon and refuse to stop despite needing a pee and something to eat. If I could do in car re-fuelling with a Victor Tanker in front of me, I would! You just cannot beat the satisfaction of getting an earlier ferry. Read more
Now I finally know what your handle's about !
Today, I went to a Ford dealer to obtain a part (a clamp which fits around the end of the exhaust manifold) for my 1999 Ka. After looking up the part on the computer system and examining various exploded diagrams, the part could not be found and, as far as the Ford parts system is concerned, doesn?t exist and is therefore unobtainable. In the real world, the part very definitely does exist: it appears in a photo in the Haynes manual and I?ve got the rusted remains of such a clamp attached to my Ka
Has anyone encountered such a problem when trying to obtain a part (any type of part for any vehicle)?
The Ford dealer suggested that I try Kwik Fit.

Touring last year on the D420 in France we followed the signs & suddenly found ourselves on a very narrow road ( in fact so narrow had to turn caravan towing mirrors in & inch our way over a bridge) we then noticed on the next sign post that it was the D420t & the T was very small! I assume it means something on the lines of rural route but perhaps someone can enlighten me please, not much fun when the outfits almost 45' long & the buildings overhanging the road meant removing the arial of the van to clear with much amusement to the locals who spoke no English

Special class deparmentmental road with some type of restriction ie weight , width or height.

In your price range, they are the same.
The Megane scenic was introduced in 1997, and was facelifted (but still the same basic car) in late 2000. The facelift was new headlights, some changes to interior trim and dash.
The "scenic" came out in 2004 was a new car from the floorpan up, and is way out of your budget.
