To free up some garage space my girlfriend and I am selling a cherished 1990 Mazda MX-5. I would be interested if anyone in the know can advise on the value... It is...
1990 UK car MX-5 1.6 in red, 29000 miles with 2 very careful owners, garaged from new, regularly serviced including major service last year (all fuids including g/box and rear diff), only modifications from new are a CD tuner and an immobiliser. It has new tyres, genuinely unmarked interior and exterior (I know you have heard this all before but on this car it is true!), taxed and MOTd, not used for short trips but used for good weather long trips... Best condition one you will find... Any advice appreciated.

Hi All,
You have got to look at this. cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=...1
Its described as the worst Van on E bay.
Respect for the writer for putting in such a funny advert and its reached over £200!
Enjoy
Regards
Jlo
Below is what I copied and pasted from the advert!
\'Ladies & Gentlemen - if you are looking for a nice van with loads of Tax and MOT stop reading now and look elsewhere!
This van is pants - big granny furry pants at that!
No MOT - don\'t know what it needs but it is taxed until end of this month.
It is the 1.8 Naturally aspirated unbreakble Ford Engine that somehow just keeps starting and plodding along which makes it too good to scrap!
There is one nice thing about this Van and that is the fact that it has got four 5 spoke alloys with good tyres all round!
The rest of it is naf!
Well scruffy - well beaten - dirty uncomfy tatty horrible skip on wheels.
But it does start - it does drive and it actually goes quite well!
Has covered 103K has had 1 careful owner and several others that didn\'t give a toss about it!
It has fallen into my hands - I bought it to nick the wheels and tyres then on the same day some nice bloke smashed my car up - hence they are now surplus to requirement.
Everything seems to work pretty much.
Yours for a bargain price - bid from a quid it is here to sell!\'

There was a Bedford CF motorhome advertised about a year ago, the seller was honest enough, mentioning the rust, need for a respray, no tax or mot etc. He posted some pictures of the van, VERY modified using a paint program, and then went on to say that "This is how it will look when restored".
I did search, found nothing.
How much will it cost and how long will it take to get
Class I
Class II
Class III

I agree it's daft re the diabetic situation, I hold a PCV licence and know a few people who've had to give up the job yet can still drive a car (and anything else covered by their standard licences) perfectly legally! Very silly indeed, should be one or both, surely!

That price is very expensive.
Some kia delaerships will import for alot less and even give a 2 year warranty.
Has the rules on roundabouts changed over the last 15 years?
Specifically, the code says on a roundabout:
to turn left use the left hand approach lane and signal left (makes sense).
for any intermediary exit, do not signal, approach in the left hand lane or centre lane on a 3 lane road (on a 2 lane road you may approach in the RH lane if the LH lane is blocked) Stay in this lane until you need to alter courseto exit. Signal left after you have passed the exit b4 the one you want.
When taking the last exit or going full circle signal right and approach in the right hand lane. keep right until you need to change lanes to exit the roundabout. Signal left after you have passed the exit b4 the one you want.
I thought it used to say to go straight across don't indicate on approach and don't indicate on exit and approach in the *right* hand* lane.
to turn right approach in the right lane indicate right, and then left b4 exit.
The illustrated roundabout has five exits, the purple car is taking an intermediary exit (not the last one) but the car approaches in the right hand lane, not following the code. This is how I would do it too but it is not how the code says to do it.
Has anyone got an older copy of the code and you could look this up for me. I've allways thought to go straight across, you should approach in the right lane, *unless otherwise indicated. Read more

Well That's not what my highway code book says. I typed it above word for word. It clearly says the default lane for any intermediary exit is the left hand lane.
This link just says choose the appropriate lane, which to me is the right hand lane.
hi does anyone no how i can remove this as some thieving scum have smashed th barrel off and rendere it useless i have taken the steeering wheel off and the instrument stalks i am now left with a stum with splines and a spring assembly please help Read more

A friend left the lights on and flattened the battery this morning. Now I can\'t get the key fob to de-activate the immobiliser/alarm.I don\'t believe in coincidence but i haven\'t had a chance to eliminate the possibility of a dead battery in the key fob, your thoughs appreciated Read more
If he has the handbook there is a code ie keyturns to disable immobiliser.then using the key will activate/deactivate alarm.once you have found out if fob has flat battery and replaced will resync with alarm.after several presses it will then reset to where it was before.

Hi backroomers, not been on for some time, but now that
'the nights are drawing in'
I thought that I'd pay a visit.
Chain driven cams are well though of by the motoring press. If they are indeed so much better than belt driven cams, why do all maufactures not use them?
And, does anyone have a one of the new Renualt 3.0 V6 diesel Espaces? if so what are they like?

Chain driven cams are by far better than cam belt. But that only applies if the oil/filter is changed at or before specified times.cambelts are a bigger problem as they are not always set up correctly ie adjustment is not always right.if one is set just a bit too tight.although no noise is made the belt is being overstretched causing premature wear.this in turn knocks out the tensioner and water pump.I would go for chain driven anytime as they are more reliable and will outlast cambelt many times over.

My local garage recently fitted my Micra with a new battery after the old gave out after only 10 years! and whilst I could check the water levels in the old one, the new one appears to be sealed. However, in the guarantee it states that the battery must be checked regularly for water levels. How can I do this as it appears to be sealed but it does look like the cover has slots for removal. Is it ok to do this or should I just leave it and let it be done at the annual service? Read more
