Which Audi A3 Sportback should I buy - the 1.6 TDi, 1.8t or 1.4 TFSI?

I'd like to buy a year-old Audi A3 Sportback and have a choice of three; a 1.6 TDi, a 1.8t, or a 1.4 TFSI. My driving now consists of about 7000 miles a year, mostly short runs on A and B class roads with the odd blow out down the motorway. I am not a fast driver but I do enjoy the power to overtake vehicles travelling at 50mph quickly and safely. I also enjoy good economy and low running costs. Which of the three Audis would you think would be the best for me?

The 1.4 TFSI is probably the best mix of economy and performance out of those three. The 1.6 TDI can feel quite sluggish, especially when pushed, whereas the 1.8 TFSI is very quick but not as economical (although at 42.8mpg it's still pretty good) and more expensive to tax, as it's in band G compared to band E for the 1.4 TFSI.
