  Hello, Is there any reason why you'd put different size wheels on a simple Ford Focus? I've just had mine serviced and the mechanic noticed the disparity. Front wheels are smaller than the rear ones but the previous owner would have had this done and I've no idea why (175/65/14 vs 175/70/14)!

  My 95 Mondeo had exactly the same problem not long back so I'm thinking this must be quite common with Ford door locks. My red key doesn't work either. I've tried squirting a bit of WD40 in but no luck. Any ideas or is it a replacement job ? SLT to bring it in line with drop down menu system

  Hello, I am needing a replacement engine for my car: Ford Mondeo Ghia x 2001 2.0 Petrol Manual, REG: Y909 MDT. I was wondering if anyone knows what engines will fit this car? I had found a 2.5 V6 that came out of a 2000 reg Mondeo Ghia x and the seller says it will fit.

  my daughters car as the eml on and the local ford garage are unable to find the problem , the diagnostic report  is :- found various codes presnt, ABS speed sensor and Hego sensor faults although snapshot data shows car being driven although shows speed at 0mph , and that all 4 hego sensors are swithing within parrameters suspect fault with ABS module or data maybe corrupting CAN information or PCM   any help would be greatly appreciated as my daughter and  her mother are making life hell

  My wife owns a R registered Ford Fiesta Ghia with only 50,000 miles on the clock. Excellent car and she does not want to scrap it out!! BUT ...... it keeps filling up with water!!! It seems that a design fault on this model means that water that goes down the gully in front of the windscreen cannot get out via the drain holes and when heavy rain is experienced overflows into the car soaking the front carpets.

  My elderly neighbour asked me if I could reset the car clock in his new Ford Ka. He'd apparently tried himself but managed to depart from the English language.Prodding and scrolling revealed it was in Dutch. By a process of elimination and comparing the series of menus with the English manual I worked out that Dutch for language was Taal (don't hold me to it).

  Hi Hope somebody can help After checking all my lights i noticed that the centre brake light on my 1999 Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec wont work. I have replaced all the bulbs and checked the fuse and cant see any loose wires or connections in the bulb unit. The two side brake lights both work and the car does not have any other electrical problems.

  hi i own a w reg ford fiesta and the heater is only blowing out hot air, i have two questions 1 is it the heater part under bonnet 2 is it the dial i turn, if it is the dial i would like to try and do it myself but cant see how to get the panel off to look at it i would be grateful for any help thank you {header updated to make use of drop down menus}

  the alternator on my ford ka doesnt seem to be charging. i put a multi meter across the battery when the engine was running and it read 11.82 as it did when the car wasnt running. is this just a straight forward alternator swap or could it be something else. i dont want to take the part off if it could be something like a relay or fuse somewhere. does it need to go on a computer????

  well after so long at looking at a focus (been stalking them on auto trader since chrimbo) iv got an apointment to see one on sunday! its a 2.0l zetec...67000 miles...one owner from new...full ford service history its £2295...most of this will be cash plus my little fiesta part exchange...any questions i should ask?? thanks Adam

  Is it possible to check genuine Ford spares prices online? I would like to buy genuine spares all the time but don't like to argue If I think the price is very high. 9 times out of ten I'll use a top quailty part from elsewhere just because I know in advance what it's going to cost.

  But - we have noticed that the convex overtaking mirror is on the passenger side and not where it should be - on the drivers side. Garage says all new fiestas are like that so it must be ford policy. Doesn't seem right to me. Unsafe on motorway and inconvenient. Views anyone?

  I have just bought a 5-year-old Y reg Ford Ka with Endura-E engine which has only done 7,500 miles (and has documents to prove it). My owner's manual says the cambelt should be changed every 5 years or 50,000 miles, whichever is sooner. Do I really need to change the cambelt now given the car's very low mileage, or when should I be looking to do it?

  Looks like the boot lock on my 99 Fiesta Encore has gone and will need a repair done on it or a complete replacement. I've heard that some locksmiths repair broken Ford locks if they are taken out first. Does anyone have any advice to a complete novice on how to remove the boot lock on a Fiesta Encore hatchback? I'm sure this job would cost a packet at a Main Dealer or garage?

  My brother has a R reg Ford Galaxy 2.8 V6 where the heater does not pump out any significant heat and the matrix has been diagnosed as needing replacement. I have changed matrices on Golfs where it is not too bad a job but how difficult is it to do on these?

  I will be replacing the passenger door window in my daughters Ford Ka this coming weekend. (Window was smashed by a drunken moron) Does anybody know if this is a straight forward job or are there any potential problems I should know about. I am a reasonably competent DIY mechanic and have changed windows and doors etc on various cars in the past.

  My 2003 fiesta has done 90K on all original suspension parts but i feel the handling is not what it was especially in the wet and although its recently passed an mot the shocks must be past their best by now. Ford dealer says £475 to replace all 4. Anyone done this and did it make a difference to the cars handling or rather a 475 quid difference!? Thoughts and opinions please....

  Thanks for all your help with my brake disc query, now I have another query! My friend also owns a Ford Focus and everytime time he uses the indicator the main beam comes on which dazzles other drivers. He then has problems switching the main beam off having to click it repeatedly or indicate again to switch it off Any ideas what is causing this and the cost of a potential fix?
