  I purchased a two year old MK4 Ford Mondeo on 29th October 2012.  Within 2 weeks i notified the garage it had an intimittent problem with hesitation and stuttering.  I also advised that the satnav wasnt working.  7 months on the satnav has only just repaired!

  Bought a 2002 Ford Mondeo 2.0 Litre Zetec TDci just shy of 60,000 miles in april 2011 from a local second hand car dealership and have had countless problems since. To list a few; smoking exhaust, knocking sound, damaged window seal, faulty horn and more.

  Hi, I wondered if anyone could give me advice on what to buy with my very limited budget as I am struggling with the advice from friends coming left right and centre! Suggestions so far have been ford or volkswagen, I ideally need an estate or large hatchback. My funds are £2000 but that includes any repairs needed and tax for the vehicle. I am self employed so the car will be a few short visits during the day, 20/30 minute trips a few times a week.

  Hi, Would just like alternative, unbiased opinions. I currently own a Ford Focus (I say own as is on an unsecured loan for which I pay £326 a month). This includes other CC and OD debt, previously was paying £225 a month. So, for the point of this say I am paying £200 a month for the car as new finance is significantly cheaper.

  I have an anti hijicking system which cuts the fuel off after some time if u do not press the button and its working fine and it has been for the past year. I parked my ford for 5 weeks without starting it, when I came back I tried to start but it did not, I tried a few more times then it started the next day I had the same problem and then it started again, I drove for 200km and the car just stopped on the road.

  I've been doing a lot of reading on the subject and am getting quite despondant! I bought a 10 month old focus from a ford dealer In November 2011.  Within 2 weeks the engine warning light came on - to cut short a very long story, I've had the AA out twice and the car has been in to the dealers 6 times in 2 months.

  I cannot understand this as I thought the timing belt would keep this set. 2. Haynes say that you must get TDC set up and lock using the Ford special tools. My thinking to get round using the special tools was to forget about setting to TDC and place paint marks on the old belt and cam shaft sprockets and crackshaft sprocket. then remove old belt transferring these paint marks to the new belt.

  I'd be grateful for some advice on what to look out for when looking at service histories and invoices, as I'm going to be buying a car in the next few weeks. I'd like to spend about £3500 on either a Ford Fiesta or Vauxhall Corsa (they seem to be plentiful and relatively affordable), so I think I'd be looking at a 2005-2007 model. The smaller the (petrol) engine the better, so I am probably looking at a Fiesta 1.25, or a Corsa 1.0 or 1.2, though I am aware of a snapped camshaft issue on Corsa 1.2 engines.

  I know my engine code is DHA but have only been able to locate DHC and DHF engines in the local scrap merchants which I've read online won't work with the engine management computer in my car despite being almost identical to my existing engine (same model and and cylinder size etc). Is this correct? Even the Ford engineers who were asked were unsure about the differences between DHA, DHC and DHF 1.25 Zetec engines and couldn't say if they are compatible. I've resorted to looking on eBay for a DHA engine and found one that is from an automatic - will this work with my manual 5 speed gearbox?

  I have only had it for a couple of months and bought it off a dealer near to where i live, it has done around 65k miles. I have a couple of issues and dont appear to be getting anywhere with my local ford specialists and therefore am seeking further assistance. The first problem is that the engine has recently started cutting out without warning when the engine is at low revs or in idle. I have taken it to a mechanic who can not find error codes or particular problems with the vehicle.

  Hello All, Sorry my first post is a tech question but I'm starting to lose the will to live with my girlfriends Ford KA. It has a strange missfire that only occours when: - The engine is up to temperature - Low RPM (I'd say under 3000rpm but there's no guage) - Medium Throttle It usually misses / lurches 2 or 3 times and feels like just on one cylinder.

  The car has only done 60k so I would be really hacked off if it is! Incidently I had the engine light on a few months back and Ford told me it was a dirty EGR valve and they cleaned it, the light went off but then came back on. I was told to take the revs a little higher and the light did go back off and hasn't been back on, could this be related?

   No car to trade-in, and the new one will be a contract hire via the manufacturer's own business finance house, so a nice bit of commission for the dealer, plus ongoing locked-in service revenue. Yet a major Ford dealer let me down, having promised a car matching my requirements for delivery in February.  Apparently the car 'disappeared' from their system, despite their assurances to me that they had reserved it, and it was 'definitely yours'.

  I have a Ford Galaxy, 2000 V reg, 2.3 zetec. I recently had a breakdown recovery van take my car to its garages due to a problem with the Compressor. This was replaced and the air con was re-charged. Since then I have heard a hissing (similar to an aerosol) sound from the passenger footwell.

  Despite driving a Ford Ka (02), i still want the best possible tyres that balance road noise, longevity, wet / dry braking, handling not that bothered about price if i know i'm getting the best tyres. I was waiting to see if there were any new tyres out this winter that balanced winter / summer conditions, but nothing new seems available in my size (165 65 13).

  My wife runs a 1997 Ford Fiesta 1.3, 23000 miles, Endura Engine. When 1st starting the car every thing appears to be ok. But after a couple of mins when the engine has warmed up the engine will stall when we start to slow down say at a junction, or when you are waiting at traffic lights etc.
