can a car door unlock itself? 23 Dec 2006 (Forum)
Ford Ka. Base model. Not remote or central locking. Two or three times in the past few months I've found the passenger door of our Ford Ka unlocked. The obvious answer is that someone failed to lock it. -
Dirty oil after recent major service 3 Oct 2006 (Forum)
I have a Ford Mondeo Estate 2.0 TDCi. The car was registered in Oct 2003 and has done 31,000 miles. It is in good condition. I had a major service carried out a the local Ford dealership 2 days and 25 miles ago. -

Relax - I'm doing it. 11 Aug 2005 (Forum)
"What?" you ask. I'll tell you - the cambelt. Ford reckon 100k. Many of you reckon 50. I'm on 70k now and have taken it as far as I dare. I know realistically Ford would never pay out in the event of a snap but I didn't want to be changing it at 50k - I think it's a bit too early. -

anxious to shift metal 14 Mar 2005 (Forum)
Seeing that Ford are claiming to offer "up to £2000" extra trade in to new car buyers makes me wonder if the trade really is that quiet currently? Clearly there's oversupply (production) in Europe. We're spoilt for choice of vehicles these days, but is Ford, in particular, having a hard time, I wonder. -

Mondeo TDCi - is anybody happy 25 Oct 2004 (Forum)
I have to opt out of my company car soon and was pretty set on getting a 6mths or so old Mondeo TDCi - perhaps a Ford Direct one. However I've now read many horror stories about problems with the car, the dealer and with Ford themselves. As with all things, we'll generally only hear about problem cars - so is there anyone doing, say 25-30K/yr in a Mondeo TDCi who is pretty satisfied with the car & the dealer? -

Best design feature 23 Jul 2004 (Forum)
Wow that's really good, why can't all cars have that...?' I nominate the heated front screen as seen on upscale Fords. Why they don't fit these to Volvos (Ford owned of course) - it must get frosty in Sweden? -- Espada III - well if you have a family and need a Lamborghini, what else do you drive? -

New Fiesta - Speed Warning Tone? 28 Jan 2003 (Forum)
It sounds like a wind resonance (not another tellytubbie I hope!!). It's so consistent on various hire cars it could be construed as a cunning Ford design to deter speeders. Are Ford that clever, or is it just a resonance overlooked during design, perhaps the aerial? Any ideas? -
Mazda 6 HJ comment? 16 Aug 2002 (Forum)
In my innocence I would imagine that this is something let loose on the public to iron out the bugs. Yet doesn't the Mazda brand generally have better reliability results than Ford? Tongue in cheek, surely Ford aren't deliberately engineering unreliability in to keep their dealers going? -
Diagnostics. 17 May 2002 (Forum)
My gut feeling is to avoid Ford. Can an independant mechanic diagnose these problems? I'd like an answer back on this quick. -- Parp, Parp! -

No gearbox drain plug?!? 9 Nov 2001 (Forum)
When I queried this with the Ford garage I was told that oil can be added but not drained. I put it to him that the oil in the gearbox would therefore last the lifetime of the car and he agreed...
