Ford KA Clutch gone (I think) - corblimeyguvnar
Just had a confusing telephone conversation with the daughter, "something wrong with the bleeping car, revs when I pull up at a junction and have foot on clutch"', tried to get more info but due to total mechanical ineptitude (both hers and mine) information was not very accurate. Assuming it is the clutch going, any ideas on a rough cost for getting a new one fitted?, its a 97 Ka.
Cheers

Doesnt sound like the clutch, if she said "revs when I have taken my foot off the clutch" then that would indicate clutch slip, sounds more like it is not idling properly, the throttle is sticking in some way, total mechanical ineptitude = time to visit garage i'm afraid!

I think the garage could check the throttle linkage, as Ka's had trouble with these to start with, MAP sensor maybe at fault letting in too much fuel thus why its letting the throttle out a bit longer.

Its not what you drive, its how you drive it! :-)

Got it sorted, it was dodgy contacts on the air flow sensor, daughter much relieved and no longer wants to 'get rid of bleeping car'.
cheers all
