Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - V5C incorrect tax class 10 Jan 2009 (Forum)
Is it really necessary for me to approach Ford for a covering letter, or is there an easier way of doing this? Thanking you in anticipation... -
Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 03 1.8 LPG fuel problem 7 Oct 2008 (Forum)
I have a 53 duel-fuel Ford Focus (manufacturer fitted lpg). Recently, I've been experiencing intermittent trouble with the gas supply to the engine. A few minutes after starting the car the gas supply to the engine seems to die and the power fades away. -
Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 02 2.0 (auto) diesel misfiring 16 Aug 2008 (Forum)
Glowplug comes on occasionally 1 or 2x a day and turbo stops - ok after restart Its been like this pretty well since new and has been back to Ford loads of times, in the end I learnt to live with it as it is, but I will never buy another Mondeo - shame really as this was my fourth in a row Recently I drove to Spain and I learnt some more about these problems. -
Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - Repair/WriteOff worries 28 Jan 2008 (Forum)
Long story shot - I was hit by a third party pulling out into the main road and my 2002 reg mondeo suffered damage to the passenger side but still drivable, i have had a telephone call from his insurers accepting liability (but nothing in writing) His insurers arranged to have a Ford dealership collect the car to arrange repairs. Since it has been collected I have been in contact with my insurers saying it would be better if my insurers had arranged the repairs (at their approved but non-ford repairers) Since it has been collected people i have spoken to have suggested (much to my shock)that it might be written off!! -
Ford Galaxy (1995 - 2006) - '05 1.9TD. Tyre speed ratings - mix or not to mix? 2 Nov 2007 (Forum)
Two questions for the experts out there please: where are we best taking the car to for an inspection to ascertain whether or not there has been any hidden damage to the chassis, tow bar, running gear etc? Is our Ford dealer as good a place as any or do we need something more sophisticated than they can provide? Secondly, when we had the car checked initially by ATS Tyres they pointed out that whoeveer replaced our tyres last ( actually a combination of said Ford dealer - front axle - and another well known tyre centre - rear axle - had managed to leave us with a mish mash of different speed gradings on the four tyres which ATS maintain is potentially dangerous. -
How does public judge reliability? 6 Jul 2007 (Forum)
As a result, other Jap brands, like Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Nissan, Subaru, Daihatsu suffer poor resale value compared to Ford and Vauxhall. Similarly, Hyundai and Kia also attract less buyers compared to Ford/Vauxhall. I recently went to my local garage to trade in my Hyundai Accent but he refused, saying he has no idea how to price a Hyundai! -
Ford diesel engine needs replacing 5 Dec 2006 (Forum)
I would be interested if anyone can say how this can happen, since the car use to run perfectly and only Ford dealers have worked on the car. Has anyone else had this trouble? Information would be welcome. -
Don't upset your customers 6 Apr 2006 (Forum)
In 1990, I was a Ford man & bought a new 1.8 diesel escort with a view to keeping it for a few years. At 1000 miles I wanted an oil & filter change, I phoned my local ford dealer repid fit dept who quoted me £18, when I took it in later that day & they did it, I was presented with a bill for £21, the young spotty lad on reception said ha ha ha, I forgot to add the VAT, he thought it amusing, he wouldn't back down so I just paid the £21, left feeling angry and vowed to myself never to deal with that garage again. -
Dents and Paint 13 Sep 2004 (Forum)
Hello all, As you may or may not know, I have 1 dent (very very tiny) with a scuff down to the metal on my Ford Focus' bonnet. Also, some of you may be aware that on the back, where the chrome lift handle meets the paint, there is the tiniest bit of rust (really small). This is due to a fault on the Ghias and I have the technical service bulletin to take into Ford when I go tomorrow and see what the man says. -

Ford diesels - a solution? 22 Feb 2003 (Forum)
Obviously GM had some stake in Isuzu so it made sense. Now Ford has a pretty hefty stake in Mazda so why don’t they do the same? Incidentally, I’ve spent a long time researching my next car – big family diesel estate with pots of room, don’t care for image or gimmicks - can never seem to find the perfect option. -
WHERE WERE THE OLD FORD FIESTAS BUILT? 26 Nov 2002 (Forum)
Hi, My sister has a 1999 T reg Ford Fiesta which i think is the MK4? I have been considering an MK5 and I did a VIN number check on both these cars and it said Origin as 'GERMANY' - does this mean where it was supplied from - i.e. grey import or does this mean where it was built... -
New car shortlist - down to 3 21 Aug 2007 (Forum)
I didn't much fancy doing 20,000 miles a year behind that cliff-face of a dashboard either - which had a chrome surround that reflected as a bright oblique line in the windscreen. Ford C-Max 2.0 TDCI - nice to drive apart from having nowhere to put your left foot. Seat folding not brilliant and it won't hold its value very well. Nissan Qashqai - no opportunity to try one as the Reading dealer is changing hands and has cleared its stock. -
