Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 03 2.0 fitting Sony auto cd changer to 6000cd ford 6 Jan 2010 (Forum)
I have taken the sony cd changer from my Mk 11 Mondeo to fit in my 03 TDCI EST according to the Ford manual the radio is cd autochanger enabled but has nowhere to plug in the ford interface lead, does anyone know if it is possible to modify or if there is any plug adaptors for fitting to the radio connectors? the radio does have an Auxilary button and there is an auxilary socket in the glovebox which would probably work the sound but would not control the cd changer. -

Rover 200 (1995 - 1999) - 97 1.4 unable to start the engine 18 Nov 2009 (Forum)
Hi, I have a Rover 214, 1997. Basically it wont start. I've changed the fuel filter, spark plugs, ht leads, crank sensor and nothing makes any difference. it varies from not starting at all to starting then cutting out after a few seconds. I've had 3 different people look at it. one suggested the ecu, we got a second hand one but made no difference. someone from the garage said a new ecu is no good unless you have immobiliser box and key fob to match. -
Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 01 2.0 Snick when engine warm when accelerating 17 Sep 2009 (Forum)
Hi - just wondered whether anyone has any thoughts as what might be causing this. Had new plugs, leads and new (Ford) coilpack - all fine when first starting out on a drive. Once engine is warm I get a snick / misfire when (for example) pulling away at a roundabout. Seems to happen in all gears if you suddenly put your foot on the gas. -
Temporary speed limits 13 Sep 2009 (Forum)
We have a music festival up the road (Isle of Wight Bestival) and lots of 30 limit signs have appeared at the side of roads leading up to the site. Mostly, the traffic is such that they are unlikely to be going that fast in the first place, but one road is normally NSL and has a couple of these signs (which are at ground level, on metal frames like temporary roadworks signs) behind which the police have been hiding with their speed guns. -
Ford Focus II (2004 - 2007) - 2006 1.6 VCT petrol engine flat spots 1 Jul 2009 (Forum)
Engine idles normally & symptoms appear after several miles(around 20 to 30). not keen on going to local Ford dealer as they charge the earth. Next step is to change plug leads. Any suggestions please. I do not have trouble with water round plugs as experienced by some owners. Pity there is no Haynes manual yet. -
Drive way fine in petty Britain 30 Jun 2009 (Forum)
http://tinyurl.com/mell2z 'Families along the stretch of road in Leicester paid the council to build the driveways leading from their houses to the road nearly 30 years ago.' 'A spokesman for Leicester City Council said the driveway was counted as a public highway.' Did they tell the residents that when they were shelling out for the drive ways ? -
Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 02 2.0 Diesel non starting 13 May 2009 (Forum)
hi there .. looking for some help (AKA pointing in the right direction) my 02 plate mondeo diesel cut out on me last week and ever since has been a git to start when warm .. cold starting was ok until i fitted a new fuel filter as i was lead to believe that could have been the problem... on refitting the new unit the car will now not start at all ... turns over fine and all electrics seem ok ...(no dash warning lights appearing) i am now begining to wonder if the original engine cut out was a symptom of something more serious... -
Toyota Avensis (1997 - 2002) - 97 2.0 Battery loosing charge 8 May 2009 (Forum)

Volkswagen Golf III (1992 - 1997) - 1996 1.8 Starting problem,please help!! 15 Mar 2009 (Forum)
Hi all I have a 1.8 ADZ motor in my car, when I try to start it in the morning it winds over and over for ages then picks up on one cyl and fires up,runs a bit "fluffy" for a few seconds and all is well, drive it to work, leave all day, starts fine, leave over night and same problem. I have re-placed plugs ,dizzy cap, rotor, leads and the injector unit rubber gasket, which was split in two, which I though was the problem but no,still the same. There is a bit of oil around from the breather on the injector area, could this be messing things up? -
DVLA Medical Questionnaire 10 Jan 2009 (Forum)
I can't see any problem in completing the forms but wonder if I should add a covering letter noting that:- -I passed the IAM test (before the event) -I recently had a top-up lesson -I have attended two local authority brush-up driving classroom sessions in recent years and am booked in for a third on January 27th. -or does this look like special pleading and be likely to lead to futher complications? What does the Forum think? -
Road works. Change of road direction 23 Oct 2008 (Forum)
It had a sign up with "no right turn except Buses, Taxi. CCTV in operation". I was in the right lane turning right with buses in the left hand lane. Left leads into a Bus area anyway. Straight ahead was closed off, and I couldnot turn around due to a central reservation. I didnot notice any road closed signs, but was following a large van closely most of the way at 10 MPH so was close behind it so could have missed it.. -
Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 03 1.8tdci starting problems 14 Oct 2008 (Forum)
The car has only done about 30000 miles. Glow plugs have been replaced and also cam position sensor and leads without result. It has been put on one of these hand held computer diagnostics and no problem shows up. Does anyone have any possible solutions? -

Vauxhall Vectra B (1995 - 1999) - 1999 1.8 16v occasional misfire 25 Sep 2008 (Forum)
Goes like the proverbial (well, for a 1.8l repmobile, it does), but has developed an occasional misfire - not really noticable above 40mph, but below that, noticeable (when occuring, which is not all the time) when doing any constant speed in any gear. Instinct was to give it some new plugs & leads & rotor arm... until I saw the 6-point bolts holding the top onto the engine... and realisation dawned that rotor arms went out with the dinosaurs. Engine cover put it well beyond the realms of a kerbside job with a small handful of sockets. -
Litres Per Hour / Gallons Per Hour 12 Sep 2008 (Forum)
Hammersmith to Hampstead for instance is probably 5 miles, but could easily take 60 minutes, and half a gallon. 2 gallons an hour doesn't sound too bad! Which leads to another query - I wonder if real townies consume more fuel per year than rural dwellers. My bet is no. {Changed initials in subject header to *hopefully* make less vague} -
Audi - Day running lights 4 Sep 2008 (Forum)
It's a bit depressing really - I can't help but think that this is much more about marketing than anything else, and worse still it'll lead to loads of other manufacturers following suit to get a bit of "Audi-ness" in their cars. Is it just me or are these lights an unnecessary and annoying frippery? -
Vauxhall Zafira A (1999 - 2005) - 00 z18xe any tips on rear door removal? 29 Aug 2008 (Forum)
Evenin' all SWMBO's Zafira has developed the usual wiring fault where the leading edge of the rear door chews through the loom between the B pillar and the door connector - central locking and speaker have stopped working on OSR door. Having already done this on the NSR door it was a real pain trying to solder the wiring with the door still on, so this time I'd like to remove it. -
Nissan Micra (1992 - 2003) - Scrapping a driveable car: economic sense? 5 Aug 2008 (Forum)
The car already has a dodgy CV joint, a front spring needs replacing, it has severely scratched windscreen (I bought a wiper blade from the pound shop -- doh!), needs new HT leads and probably a new battery for the winter. And is cosmetically bad, with scratched bodywork and front bumper repaired with insulation tape. And that's before the MOT test. It runs OK, though. Should/when it fails its MOT.
