Hyundai trajet - Accident in one way road 16 Jul 2014 (Forum)
Just collected my young son from school. I was driving the right way down a narrow one way road when a car came out of a small garage and drove head first into me. Substantial damage to my car which is 12 year old. I have had it from new and only done 48,000 miles. I am a disabled driver and only do school and frequent hospital runs. -
Mazda CX-5 - Mazda CX-5 - Petrol vs Diesel 2WD 6 Jul 2014 (Forum)
Here's some info around our useage- - This will be a long term purchase, not a change after 3 years (DPF's and DMF's scare me on the diesel once it drops out of warranty.) - It won't do more that 10k miles per year - The car will cover more stop/start A-road driving than motorway (Motorwary will just be on family trips at weekends) One on hand the diesel has some nice grunt low down in the range so you're not changing gear all the time and the turbo gives you good power when you need it. -

Mazda 6 Diesel Estate - Mazda Mazda Mazda oh dear 24 Dec 2013 (Forum)
Thinking i was unlucky with that one decided to buy another one from a main dealer in September 2012 with just short of 80,000 how wrong i was - a year later with just short of 90,000 on well december 2013 whilst driving the DPF light started flashing and the engine management light came on so quickly booked into main dealer garage £ 500 later for an oil leak Rocker cover gasket, DPF regenerated, Oil and filter change etc etc (even though it had one in August) then a day later the engine started whining so booked in again. They dropped the sump and hey ho the crank is damaged how much £ 3,000 to replace and rebuild the bottom end for a car that is only worth 2k The Mazda 6 Estate is a great car to drive, comfy etc but seems that the engines are really no good. -

Peugeot 206 (56) - Overheating and Losing water 5 Oct 2013 (Forum)
Any ideas please? the car is in the garage for a minimum of a week every time it goes back and we have lost all confidence in them. Money is also tight but I would certainly pay to get this fixed once and for all. Thankyou. -
Volvo XC60 - Clutch issue 28 Feb 2013 (Forum)
We purchased a used approved Volvo XC60 from a Volvo main dealer 10 months ago. The car had covered 14,600 miles. We thought buying from a main dealer would give us protection should any mechanical failures occur. The car has a 3 year of 60'000 mile manufacturers warranty which expires this September. 2 weeks ago we discovered the clutch was starting to slip (at 24'000 miles) and reported to our local dealer who advised that it was a grey area and that inspection would cost £600 if the damage to the clutch friction plates was deemed to be through abuse ie poor driving. -

Volkswagen Up 2012 3 door - TakeUpreview 10 May 2012 (Forum)
If you do not cover many miles, then the Polo might be a better proposition as the interior is a step or two up in terms of quality, but since I do 60 miles a day (30 miles each way), fuel economy is a must. And I do like small cars, as they are more fun to drive, and easier to park in cities. -
NISSAN PRIMERA 2.0 PETROL 52REG - engine MAF-LAMBDA SENSOR 22 Dec 2011 (Forum)
Have got a problem with my wifes car.About a month ago it stalled and would not start,we went back two days later to tow it to a garage. On arriving at the car i decieded to see if it would start. It did so i drove it to the garage,we got there and they said if the engine diognostic light wasn/t on they wouldn,t be able to get a fault code.so we left and since covered 368miles fully loaded and in all driving speeds around town and motorway, not a moments trouble.Until now ! -

Peugeot 306 Hdi - Advise needed on diagnostic results 11 Nov 2010 (Forum)
He told me this was also corroded. Finally the fuel pressure regulator came up. Now the car has covered 200,000 miles and if I could keep it on the road at a reasonable price I would. However the only worry I have is that the cost of parts seems very expensive. He suggested £280ish for the fuel regulator and around £100+ for an airflow sensor. -

BMW - Abnormal tyre wear & cracked wheels {Read Only] 5 Nov 2009 (Forum)
I again complained to BMW (UK) who now told me that the tyre wear was normal & that I must have driven through a pot hole to crack both rear wheels & therefor they were not covered by warranty despite the car being 18 months old & having only done 28k miles. I have filed with the county court that these wheels are not fit for the purpose. Does anyone have any similar cases that they are willing to provide as coroberative evidence? -

Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - 96 1.9td won't turn off - no glow plug light. 18 Jan 2009 (Forum)
No immobilizer lights I had a problem where over night the battery went flat for no reason. the relay unit next to the pump reset switch was making lots of clicking sounds. I have managed to restart the car, however the car wont turn off? I have been told it could be a bad earth to the engine? Also when i reconnect the battery the glow plugs warm up(no light on the dash to say the pre heat is working) which also indicates a bad earth? -
Volkswagen Golf VI (2009 - ) - Shall I, or shan't I? 3 Jan 2009 (Forum)
Also, some of the bright, shiny alloys have been replaced with a funny greyish two tone alloy finish thus making brake dust less obvious, I suppose. I was also surprised to see that there wasn't any fancy underbonnet engine cover but -instead the underside of the bonnet lid had sound-proofing padding. Thus the engine now looks a bit of a mess with everything visible to the prying eye. Totting up my own configuration for a car with metallic paint, multifunctional steering wheel (in order to control the radio) and parking sensors we're looking now at a car costing in excess of £17k
