  Hi I need to change the front brake pads on 2003 C5 estate. The pads look different to the pads in my old zantia. Has anybody got any tips or pitfalls to avoid? Do I have to adjust the hand brake when i've finished Thanks in Advance

  I briefly read an advert for a scooter and saw that it had both its front and rear brakes connected (not sure whether to the foot or hand operated "pedal"). It got we wondering why motor bikes have separate brakes for front and rear? (You may guess that I am not a biker!)

  I am going to change some front brake pads on a T reg Seat Ibiza 1.4 this weekend. I was wondering if anyone could tell what type of braking system it has got? is it vw or girling? does it have bolts(with nuts on the guide pins) or alley key type bolts?

  I would like to change the brake fluid on my wifes Saxo. I have read that these cars come with synthetic brake fluid (1999). Is there any way I can tell what type of fluid is in the master cylinder so that I can replace it with the same type of fluid.

  A day later, " Check ABS Braking " error appeared on the dash. I have just tried with the ignition and the service/parking brake on messages keep flashing on and off ( see video here ).

  After about 1500 miles on the new discs, I started to get an intermittent shake on the steering when braking from speed. This can be quite violent at times, yet other times (this morning for example) I braked from 70 mph on a slip road and the wheel remained completely undisturbed. This is also accompanied sometimes by what I can only describe as a "pulsed" braking effect, most noticeable when braking gently at very slow speeds (i.e. <10 mph).

  After removing the braking force, the design then relies on the motion of the brake disk to push the calliper away slightly and free the disk from the fixed pad and the moving pad. Yesterday evening I noticed that the acceleration seemed down and a little later I noticed that the car slowed more rapidly than usual on the over-run.

  Before the advent of ABS , I used to change the brake fluid when I remembered. this was triggered because I'd once experienced brake fade due, I found out later, to the fluid boiling. As many of you will know, this was because over time, brake fluid absorbs water ,lowering its boiling point thus under heavy braking the fluid can boil and Hey Presto no brakes.

  Released the brake and reapplied and the car stopped. Immediately took it to Kwik Fit for a brake check, explained the issue but they checked it over and suggested everything checked out fine. 2. Was at a junction. thought I could go but a speeding car in a cross road made me think twice.

  I have a 2011 grand scenic and the passenger brake light is not working. Checked the fuse in the glove box and it's working fine. The bulb is brand new but the light will not come on, any ideas on how to fix this? Maybe no power going to the brake light, where do I start

  my brake warning light comes on sometimes for short sometimes for long time, if i have my main beam on the main beam warning light goes off when brake warning light comes on. any idea please

  When slowing down to about 10-15 mph, when I let my foot off the brake there is quite a loud "clunk" from the rear brakes.  Has anyone else experienced this, if so is it normal, or should I have it checked out under warranty.

  Renault main dealer is pushing a coolant and brake fluid special offer for £50 each. My daughter's 2006 Clio 1.4 petrol has 13K on the clock and is in for the Renault £199 "major" service tomorrow - is it worth getting the collant and brake fluid changed ?

  Can anyone give me some advice on what brake discs i should consider. I would like better braking from my SAAB 900 Turbo, can anyone recommend a particular disc make, or disc and pad combo. Any help would be appreciated.

  I have a 2002 Passat , I have had the ABS and ESP lights coming up , and Engine Workshop also . when looked at on the computer the faults are shown as "implausible" . I noticed that the brake lights don't work ? One of the bulbs was out , on replacing it they still don't work , I heard these alarms and brake light faults are related???
