Ford Fiesta Zetec 2007 - Ford Fiesta off centre steering 6 May 2017 (Forum)
Which I will confirm again and post a reply. So I'm here to get some help; • The calliper? The old brakes were almost down to the metal, they were even on both sides, thinking that the piston may have partially rusted/rubber broken when retracting the piston. However wouldn't this cause the brakes to drag left? -
Whats the penalty for tailgating 25 Sep 2022 (Forum)
.It was a 40 road and the guy in front was barely doing 30 so I was quite close, hoped he would just speed up. Well he didn't he did the opposite he randomly kept braking and going down to 20. My fault for following him too closely . Say if he reported me. Could I then counter report saying he was antagonising me and brake checking which I believe is also illegal? Are awareness courses offered for tailgating etc, would it be 3 points for DwDCA or six points for dangerous? -
automatic cars and pedal confusion 3 Feb 2020 (Forum)
Reading about the terrible case of the the 2 poor ladies knocked down and killed by an 87 year old motorist who floored the accelerator instead of the brake while driving in reverse.. This is not an uncommon problem with drivers who only use the right foot to brake and accelerate, how to prevent these tragedies happening. Surely it must be possible to retro fit a limiter on these autos that works as soon as the car is put in reverse set to say 5 mph,of course at 5mph damage can be done but no were near as much as a car careering back at15 to 20 mph.it seems on the face of it quite a simple fix and a lot of accident could be averted i can not see a great problem as most cars fitted with cruise control also have a speed limiter . -
Peugeot 508 - peugeot 508 2012 2.2l starting failure 30 Apr 2019 (Forum)
The towing service checked the battery and then the car went crazy - showed all imaginable errors (from tires to brake system). It looked something like electronic short-circuit. Even the psrking brake didn't turn off for like 10 tries. Did anyone experienced anything like that. Any help would be very helpful. -
Peugeot 107 3 Door Urban - Was mine the only crap one then? 11 Jul 2015 (Forum)
Bought 08/08, 2 years old full dealer service history. 18,000miles Clutch Failed; Water Leak into boot floor/spare wheel well - tool kit rusted; Water Pump failed; Front Discs & Brake Pads "80% worn" and need replacement next service; Rear Brakes, same; Exhaust blowing - front and back box need replace next service. Drive train, gearbox and gearchange awful. Without doubt the worst car we've ever owned. -
Vauxhall Corsa c - have i paid for work unecessarily? 22 Jan 2015 (Forum)
my friend took my 2001 corsa to ats euromaster and ended up having new brake shoes and handbrake cable altered. I have no receipt showing what has actually been done or replaced, only the mot and cost me £100 plus £25 for the mot. When I looked at work I had done previously, in the last year I had new front brake pads, in the last 8 months rear shoes and last 4 months rear pads and in the last 1 1/2 years both new handbrake cables. -
Peugeot 306 HDI D-turbo - Rubbing/vibration noise offside front. 13 Jan 2014 (Forum)
This vibration increases in frequency as the speed increases, and increases in severity and volume when turning right during driving or braking. I have likened this noise and feel to a slighly buckled wheel or a warped brake disc but the discs and pads have just been renewed and the noise appeared during a long drive. -
Honda CRV 2.0i VTEC ES - Any Advice 18 Oct 2013 (Forum)
I was wondering if anyone has any experience of this car and any tips for what to watch out for, such as, oil top up, brakes etc as some reviews mention that the car can use a bit of oil and can be a little heavy on brakes, but i'm assuming some of that might be down to driving style as well. -
From the daily mail - kwik fit 15 Jul 2013 (Forum)
The team from the new BBC1 consumer show Your Money, Their Tricks, made the allegations after sending 10 cars into 10 Kwik-Fit branches across Britain for a 'free brake check' and 'free tyre check'. Teepee Zenith - Peugeot Partnet Teepee Problems 2 Jan 2012 (Forum)
However, the road noise is high and the when the car hits a pothole the whole car shudders and vibrates. Now to makes things worse it is sometimes making a brake screech type sound when the brakes are not being applied. This is more apparent when the car has been running for a while at higher speeds and is slowing down. It's been back to the dealers several times but they say that they cannot find any faults with the suspension or wheel bearings. -

Ford Focus Zetec 1.6 petrol year 2000 - OSR Stub Axle 14 Sep 2011 (Forum)
My brakes felt spongy, so took to my local Ford garage for a diagnosis. They removed the rear wheels and drums stating the cylinders were leaking. They phoned me to say that I also need to replace the stub axle because when they took the nut off they found it was cross threaded and cannot be put back on. -
