Comfy, Frugal drives well but flawed.

On my second XC40. First was a D3 manual which had a strong performance, good comfy ride on soft suspension, ideal for urban pot hole roads. Unfortunately we had a complete brake failure which was repaired under warranty. Our second XC40 is a T3 manual which ia quite pokey considering. Same again good to drive, good gear change, comfy seats and enough space all round. Quite frugal on urban and long journeys (40 -50). Problem again with brakes. This time there is an intermittemt issue with seized handbrake ( unable to move). Solved once again under warranty by replacing rear brake pads.
I had to fight, with Volvo Uk, to get some action on this handbrake issue as it's quite a common fault world wide. Seems they wait until you can prove, to the dealer, that there really is an issue. Not a very good response from a manufacturer which boasts about it's safety reputation.
