Great but be careful on used foresters

I bough the car from a small dealer in Wales. The car was previously owned by a person who worked for Samco, so the car looked in good shape. It had a little bit of surface rust on the underbody but i fixed that quickly.
Its not overly expensive to own as many people would review. It will around 30mpg if you stick to 70mph. Its quite easy to drive around town as well because of the big windows, its easy to see out of. Its not very comfy on a long drive, its a tall 4x4/Car but the suspension is pretty stiff/sporty.
When it comes to storage its great, boot is massive, its good for camping as well because in the boot alone i have 2/3 12V sockets i can plug different stuff in.
Maintenance its not that bad. Service is around £150. Decent summer tires £400, decent winter tyres £500. Recently changed the disc and pads which cost me £400.
And now to the negative thing about all forester models. There is a big wind noise coming from the from windows where the side mirrors are. All foresters have this issue not just mine. Its quite annoying to be honest, i didnt test the car fully before i bough it. Take it onto the motorway if you can because this noise anything over 50mph and its just unbearable inside. Its weird as well because i though it was the rubber seals but its not because in the rain the water does not get inside. I had to take it to a car window/seal specialist who is still working on the problem, which so far costs me £200 and its still not fully fixed.
Apart from that the car is great. Great performance from the 2.0 turbo impreza engine is great. To spice it up a bit for £500 i got mine remapped. Now the bhp is around 215. Typical old turbo charged car it has turbo lag (which is to be expected) so if your in the right gear the car is great fun. I went to a amateur really cross challenge with a couple of mates and the car performed great.
So it depends what you want it for. If you have children...forget it, its noisy and uncomfortable. If your young like me, need the big space from the forester and the power from the impreza this is the car for you =]
