Would have been impressive 10 years ago.

I feel I’m a minority here but I just don’t get what all the fuss is about. Yes it looks nice but that’s all I find it has going for it.
The auto full beam headlight flashes on and off at road signs like a mental light house which has just discovered Morse code. Every time I drive through local villages to mine it keeps the full beam on which annoys people in their houses and pedestrians.
The speed limiter is ok but will from time to time suddenly accelerate you without further pressure on the pedal.
The auto speed limiter which “knows” what the road speed is and adjusts the cars maximum sided to match is nothing short of dangerous. The number of times I’d be driving and it won’t let me go the actual speed because it doesn’t know the speed limit has changed was annoying but what’s worse is when you’re driving at 60mph on a main road and the car suddenly drops you to 30mph because we’ve passed a side street that was displaying a 30mph limit. This wasn’t a one off, this was frequent and dangerous. Vehicles behind thinking I’m brake checking them and almost causing collisions.
The lane assist is ok but where I live there is rain, the rain collects in these things we call puddles. I, like many others try to move out of the way so as not to splash people and vehicles behind but the car disagrees with this.
Where’s the storage space? I get there’s a boot and another bootlette under it and a milk carton holder under the bonnet but inside is really lacking. The auto gearstick may look fancy but it’s a pointless ego talking point for the designers when that space could be a cubby box or cup holder.
It does have cup holders, 2 of them but one of them in in the centre console cubby box which means if there’s 2 of you and you radically have a drink each then there’s no room in that centre box for anything other than a few eco wafers.
There’s are pockets in the doors and a mini console pocket in the pointlessly large and poorly thought out centre console but that’s it.
No overhead storage for a pair of sunglasses or anything. There’s a glove compartment which the passenger can make use of but that’s it. Nothing above and not even a tray under the seats for that last water thing mint.
The seats are ok but they’re short and don’t really hold you in any way. The seat makes me constant feel like a taxi driver and I’ve resorted to speaking to people who aren’t there and glancing at them in the rear view mirror just to try and justify why they’re like this.
The tablet style infotainment is ok but not impressive. Why do we only have a touch screen option and not a dial that can be used to navigate around it all? I don’t want to be carefully watching what I’m touching whilst driving and the google voice command is as bad as expected.
The dashboard can display the google map but no other map so if you want to use Waze, Apple Maps, or any EV charge app map you’ll be left with a blank dashboard. There’s not even an option to view anything from the infotainment system in the dashboard.
The radar guided cruise control just leaves too long a gap as you approach other vehicles which leads to you slowing down and others overtaking you and the vehicle in front of you sooner than you expected even on the shortest distance setting.
The air vents work fine but are really quite noisy.
I don’t know what cars people had been driving prior to these but how are people finding this car sporty? It really, really isn’t. The suspension would be ok if it was a 10 year old car but it’s really not impressive.
The reversing light is completely inadequate, the 360 degree cameras constantly come on even when driving in slow moving traffic…..why? Why would I need to worry a shrew has wandered in front of me as I’m sat at the traffic lights? You can’t even turn it off and even changing the infotainment screen doesn’t work as it keeps going back to the cameras which is b***** annoying if you’re checking the map at a traffic light junction.
Reversing is a gamble as a few tall prices of grass will have the car slam on the breaks as your parking.
The speakers are mediocre at best, the google infotainment system doesn’t seem to like CarPlay and crashed a number of tunes.
The steering wheel controls are lacking in abilities and functions.
The underwhelming acceleration and range are as expected.
I’m honestly struggling to find anything on this car that’s above average and I’m coming from an almost 9 year old Mercedes diesel.
