CUPRA, SEAT's spin-off performance brand, has announced final specifications and pricing for its first vehicle, a coupe SUV called Formentor. The base-spec Formentor starts at £27,300 when it goes on sale in mid-November.

The entry-level V1 trim is available with a 150PS TSI engine and a six-speed manual or seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox. The 1.5-litre TSI engine is available as a 150PS while the 2.0-litre TSI will be offered as a 190PS. Both the 1.5-litre and 1.4-litre plug-in variants will be available to order in the UK from early 2021.

A plug-in hybrid option will also be available - featuring a 1.4-litre TSI 150PS (110kW) petrol engine paired to a 115PS (85kW) electric motor, powered by a 13kWh lithium-ion battery pack. This will come in 204PS or 245PS outputs. The eHybrid has a predicted electric-only range of 31miles (50km).

Six trims will be offered - named V1, V2, VZ1, VZ2, VZ3 and VZ Edition. As standard, V1 models get 18-inch alloy wheels, 12-inch infotainment touchscreen with connected navigation, 10-inch digital driver binnacle, LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, Adaptive Cruise Control, wireless smartphone charger, a leather steering wheel and rear parking sensors, all as standard.

The V2 trim adds features like bucket seats, park assist which includes front and rear sensors, a rearview camera and electric tailgate - while the VZ1 spec adds dynamic chassis control and sports suspension, plus Safety and Driving Pack.

The VZ2 model is the first to be launched, offering a 310PS and four-wheel-drive for a nearly £40,000 price tag. The £39,830 Formentor gets a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine and 400Nm torque. It'll start arriving in the UK towards the end of the year and joins the high-performance CUPRA Ateca and CUPRA Leon.

The new flagship model accelerates from 0-62mph in 4.9 seconds. Built on the same platform as the Ateca, the Formentor is 4450mm long, 1839mm wide and 1511mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2680mm. It's also fitted with Volkswagen Group’s Dynamic Chassis Control.

The CUPRA Formentor VZ3 with 4Drive and 310PS starts at £42,200, while the Formentor VZ Edition starts at £43,840. This flagship VZ2 model will also retain 46 per cent of its value after three years and 60,000 miles, according to CAP HPI.
