My 2002 C5 estate boot starts beeping and comes up as open on the dash display
after it has been sitting in the sun for a short while. The beeping continues
intermittently for a while as I drive. Consequently I am unable to lock the car when
this happens. A firm bang closed very occasionally works. My mechanic changed the
lock and has fiddled around over the last couple of years but without solving the
problem. Any suggestions appreciated otherwise it looks like another noisy six
months.

Problem solved. The back window was slightly out of allignment and by inserting a spacer the problem was solved. The window may have been broken in the past.
