I understand that when Toyota launch their new model Corolla segment car at the Paris motor show in autumn (UK sales spring 2007) it will not be called the Corolla anymore.
Apparently it will be more spoty & Lexus like in terms of quality etc and the new name will reflect this.
I understand they had a bit of a scare when Honda launched the Civic and delayed launch whilst they made some changes.
Hopefully they will fix the rattles that seem to plague Toyotas and Lexussesiii.

I read about this a while back.

Do you have any idea where there may be some pictures (other than 4car).

Rumor has it they're somewhat scared of number. This is supposed to be the 13th Corolla in a row (E13), so...

They could call it 12a? Or 14. If AM can skip 8...

It had to happen at some point - even ford ditched the escort in search of a new image.

but only after the image was tarnished by the bean counters to the point where they realised that they had to give the enginers more than 50p to build a car. Toyota haven't done that.

Does this mean that Toyota will cease to spuriously claim that a varied and diverse range of cars, all badged Corolla, sold over the past 40 years were all actually a continuing development of one basic design (like the Beetle, Model T, original Mini etc)and therefore the largest selling model ever?

Aren't corolla's designated as KE20,......AE90, AE100, AE110 and so on?
It is the Nissan Sunny's (Almeira in the European Market?) that is designated B10, B11, B12, B13, B14, etc.

And we, Stuartli, have to read your daft and meaningless cliche at least twice a week.Nobody else signs off with a trite phrase. Do us a favour and drop it.

>>> Aren't corolla's designated as KE20,......AE90, AE100, AE110 and so on?
Nah... The current one is E12... The previous one was E11.
So the new one just has to be E13 - how unfortunate ay ?
