In the not too distant future when the percentage of EVs hits 25% the GOV is to have a loss of revenue of some £9billion due to no VED and fuel duty on EVs.

Clearly the GOV will have to come up with some solution as the situation is unfair on ICE drivers and revenue loss is unsustainable The link gives a couple of suggestions aimed at EVs or perhaps a fairer system for all... Read more

Can only think that new regs on tyres and brakes will be just a drop in the ocean as regards pollution from these sources.

Hey, I just travelled back from holiday (roughly 150miles) and everything was ok. Then 3 hours later I popped out and when I started the car I got the engine fault light pop up. When I attached the diagnostic machine it gave me error codes P2047 and P2452. Any idea what the problem might be and how to fix it? My wife is due to drive 200miles tomorrow to visit her sister. Is this the type of error code that can be driven on? It's a Peugeot 308 Allure Sw Hdi Blue S/S 2016 reg, Any help would be appreciated. Read more

Even if there's no error there will be codes stored in the BSI log and the ECU - certainly enough for them to do some basic diagnosis.

And the faults will be logged as intermittent or permanent.

Hello
I was involved in a collision today. I was on a road waiting to turn right. The opposite lane was clear but as I started to turn to cross the road a car came up on my inside and we collided. There is damage all down the side of her car and damage to the front right of mine. He is saying I wasn’t indicating. But I was stationary in the road. I always indicate and believed I was but can’t be 100 percent sure. I can’t remember if I was it’s all a bit of a blur. Who is at fault if I was not indicating ? I guess it’s his word against mine. In the scenario you described, if you were turning right from a stationary position and the opposite lane was clear, the general expectation is that you would indicate your intention to turn. But at the same time things such as speed, awareness, visibility, and other potential contributory factors are also factors.

I'm not sure using the Peugeot as a runabout would necrssarily extend its life at all. All it would do would allow over time it's mileage return to average and be worth a bit more at trade in time.

If the 5k miles per year on the Jazz is the car being driven 10-15 miles every day in town, and the 20k miles in the Peugeot is the car being driven 50 miles every day on the motorway, the Peugeot may actually run for fewer hours with fewer cold starts, gear changes etc....
