Can anyone recommend a good Sat Nav to download on an android phone? It would need to include driving lanes and instructions on which lane to use as on my last drive on the mainland, I got a PCN for driving in a Bus Lane. Living on the Isle of Wight where there aren't any bus lanes and or motorways - other than half a mile of dual carriageway, doesn't equip me for mainland driving, so looking for advice on a really good sat nav.

Thanks. Alas this is my last day of my holiday, I drive back home tomorrow. Typically it's lashing down. But I will return to Bigbury as I'm house and cat-sitting for a friend I used to work with. Been to Salcombe, Sidmouth, Kingsbridge, Modbury and Ivybridge so not too bad in a week. On a nice day there's nothing better than the beach a mile away, this time of year it's quiet.

The narrow lanes are more of a problem for pedestrians. Several times I've wondered what might happen if a car doesn't see me in time, I've got nowhere to go as the banks are vertical. You can tell the non-locals in their cars, they stop dead in a lane, afraid of scratching their paint on the hedges....

It’s springs that hold the car up and primarily affect ride quality.
A damper is (fairly) easily compressed by hand, a spring less so. They obviously work in harmony, but the primary purpose of a shock absorber is to damp spring oscillations, hence its more accurate name of damper.
I’d be looking to see if there’s a variant of the CR-V that had softer springs.

You could have given him / the course / and the company running it a bad review, if all of the above was true. ...

Hi all

I want to replace my 2012 Honda Jazz, great car but too small and needs more pep in the engine. Something I have talked here before but COVID, rising costs, the global economic crisis delayed my plans. I mainly drive around suburbia/commute to work with occasional long distance trips every school Holidays (and its here where I think my Jazz lacks). ... Read more

If you think the HRV has a lack of power, that would probably knock all the Totota Hybrids off the list as well.

The HRV, like the Toyota Corolla, CHR, Yaris Cross etc. uses a CVT transmission. This means that revs match demand rather than the speed of the car. This gives an impression if the car not accelerating when it actually is because the engine note doesn't change. Also, as it revs first before increasing speed, many drivers instinctively back off at that point. They aren't actually that slow but if you don't like the way it operates, the only alternative is to buy something else....

Almost without exception, had I booked an appointment 8 months ahead of time, I would have confirmed a couple of weeks before it was scheduled.

Although not the fault of the OP that the garage was not expecting him, it would have been easy to make sure things ran more smoothly with far less opportunity for error or cock up.

I have been asked by a relative for advice regarding a 17 seater minibus. It's needed for a school, but the waiting list for new ones is rather long. Anybody know of reputable dealers who could supply a used one? They are based in Surrey. Thanks. Read more

I moved house a few years back and totally oblivious forgot to change my address in a different city on the V5.

The car is taxed and insured.

I had an accident and the car is written off.

The car is insured at the correct address.

Will the wrong address on the v5 void the insurance or the write off payment?

Thanks

Ps the new people in the old house still forward post so no fines have gone to the wrong address. Read more

Time to argue IMHO. Insurers are meant to return you to your situation before the write-off, which normally means the cost of buying an 'identical' vehicle (give or take). You may have the option of keeping the car and having it repaired, but their payout will be less. £3K looks to me too little for either option.

Looks like it . I think the Op got confused. Just like the system . Couldn’t identify both keys . What was wrong with an old fashioned blade key ? Nothing.
