We are planning to visit Grindelwald Switzerland in Dec. The local driving school recommends to put on winter tyres although this isn't mandatory in Swiss.
I tried xdrive performance in a muddy carpark previously and wasn't quite convinced by its 4-wheel control at all. May I ask if it is essential to chain the tyres or winter tyres shall be sufficient in this part of the world? Thank you! Read more
Hi, my husband died and left me with this BMW which is not the type of car I drive.
I want to sell it but am unsure where would be best to advertise. It has a year’s MOT but the paintwork does need some work. Mileage is 52,500. Hope someone can help as I am out of my comfort zone selling this. Thank you. Read more
Thanks for the advice everyone.
I have been given papers by the police for hitting a parked car in a car park. The papers say that I'm looking to be prosecuted for hit and run and dangers driving. The papers were posted through my letterbox.

Yes, my other half received the letter, as he's the registered keeper.
It's a NIP I received and believe it was hand delivered through the letterbox....

Have you checked what the fluid on the floor near the wheel is? Are you sure it is ATF not brake fluid? Is the appropriate reservoir showing any loss? IF you are using the car be very careful.

I watched a video of the prototype being test driven last year along with company founders being interviewed and was hugely impressed. Now the Sono Sion is set to go on sale late 2023 from around £21k, way cheaper than anything else comparable in size, and cheaper than any other EV's apart from a couple of small ones. And none of them charge themselves through solar energy!.... Read more
Something that light and slippery could probably easily be made compatible with the Gogoro electric scooter battery swapping infrastructure already in place here in Taiwan, if Gogoro thought it was in their interest.
This would remove range anxiety and concerns about battery life....
If you measure the distances between the bolt holes correctly and use the markings on the inside of the wheel you should see something like ET58 or something and say 4 x 115 (didtance between centres of bolt holesO will give you as an example 4 x115 et58 which you can then use to find what it fits, if you are lucky there will be a part number inside the wheel, etched into the aluminium. The question was in the Classics forum. I will see if I can move it all there later.
I'd back up what other posters have said, definitely get winter tyres. In some countries I have driven in, they are mandatory for locals but optional for foreign cars. However if you are involved in an accident then without winter tyres you are always at fault.
Also check rules of the countries you need to drive through....
