I want upgrade my TomTom satnav to a recent 6” model.
I do not have a smart phone, do the later models still use satellites for gps, not too worried about traffic updates etc. Just the route from A to B with street names/post codes.
Have been looking at such as Go 60/610/620 etc ?? Read more

I quite like the idea of remote consultations that can be fitted in during the busy day and avoiding all the germs in the waiting room. F2F should be available for those that prefer or it's more appropriate.
I've consulted our GP practice more times this week then in the last 12months; ie twice....
"the current significant increase in the wholesale cost of electricity for [rail] haulage means that some operators have had to take the regrettable decision to temporarily move back to diesel locomotives. A 200% increase in electricity costs for each train cannot be absorbed by the operators, or customers, and so necessary action is being taken to ensure that trains can continue to operate delivering vital goods across the country"

Sweden has an energy crisis just now, and costs are up something like 5 times. The reason is the socialist government, supported by the greens closed down half the nuclear power stations. Reserve power is coming from an oil fired power station.
The wind isnt blowing much, its very cold up north, which means the channels supplying the hydro power stations are freezing up.
The power outlets at some company car parks are only for block heaters, and there is a big shortage of proper charging points, as electric car sales have outstripped the infrastructure by some margin. The ’free’ charging point are now rapidly disappearing as electric prices start to bite hard.
Looks much the same - appearance wise - to me. A LOT more expensive, though. Read more
It has the Powershift dual clutch transmission. That had a terrible reputation when they used it before. Why should buyers trust it now?
Heating and ventilation are controlled by the infotainment screen and buttons and knobs have been removed. You are doing 70mph in heavy traffic and the screen starts misting up. You need to turn on the air conditioning, direct the air flow onto the screen, turn up the fan and the heat. How do you do that without taking your eyes off the road to use the touch screen? It sounds like an accident waiting to happen. Where are the Health and Safety authorities when we need them?
I have a 2016 Astra 1.6 elite nav which has a CD player that I never use taking up nearly all of my glovebox. I would like to delete it but if I unplug it I loose the display on the central screen! Is there a way to disconnect it without the system ‘crashing’? I’ve asked at two Vauxhall dealerships - neither knew the answer as it’s a very rare option they said! And they weren’t particularly helpful in wanting to find out for me - just said they didn’t know and that was it! They seemed unwilling or unable to get an answer from Vauxhall it seemed. Any suggestions as to is this possible? Read more
It’s possible that the unit is more than just a CD player. As you have taken it out ,how many connectors does it have and are there any optic cables ?

Can’t think of any connection between the radio and alarm system. Are all doors, boot and bonnet fully closed ? I guess these have an interior movement sensor , but don’t think it’s near the radio .
Hi there,
I have a 2015 Focus and recently noticed a slight "ticking" noise from the front right tyre whilst driving. It is very faint and doesn't always manifest itself, especially at higher speeds. I thought it may be a stone or nail in the tyre but after thoroughly checking, this was not the case. ... Read more
I'm trying to picture a valve "breaking up" and I can't manage it.
some old ones used to dry up around wheel on the inside and break up gradualy, it wasn`t that I know of regular, but imo was on those that were never replaced on tyre change, probably never know as OP not replied to answers yet ?...

Waste of money . Nothing is going to unblock the heater matrix if the original system was fitted with a silikat bag in the expansion tank . Yes , flush the system, replace the matrix , and then fill will fresh coolant .
But make sure the silikat bag is removed or replace the header tank for one without the horrible bursting bag. It's such a common fail the modified tank is frequently in stock at dealers! The offending tanks have "mit silikat" stamped on them.

Overheating phones are not unknown on a hot day, when attached to the windscreen. Mine does it every now and again, especially if it’s plugged in, processing navigation and streaming radio via BBC Sounds (or similar).
Unplug it, get it out of the sun for a few minutes and it’ll cool down again.
