One of my local tyre fitting shops asks you to sign a document saying you understand it is your responsibility to check the tightness of the nuts after 25 and 50 miles.

Any right minded driver would. Never assume.....

About 2 months ago we made the decision to switch our second car for all electric, and about a month ago we picked up a year old, 2020 Hyundai Ioniq, Premium SE full electric. Was expecting to do something like 500-600 miles a month in it, but a month later we've somehow covered just under 1500 miles, so I thought I drop a few thoughts about the car and EV experience.

The more we drive the car, the more we like it. My wife, who normally doesn't care about a car at all as long as it goes reliably, really loves it, both as a car and the whole electric car experience. It's no sports car, but as a comfortable cruiser across town, motorway and rural roads it's great. Perfectly quick enough though, and performance is effortless to access. Massive amount of standard equipment, so not short of gadgets. Plenty of room inside and whilst the boot doesn't have a large volume, it's long and wide, so as long as we don't have to carry anything tall, it actually works as a large boot.... Read more

I think there have been a few factors that have pushed the mileage up for us.

Firstly the novelty factor of a new car, which will wear off. Secondly we went on holiday with it and did 400 miles in a week which is unusual. Both of these are sort of 'one off' things in the short term....

Hi all,

I was hoping I could take a moment of your time. My friend and I have started a project to help people find their next car. Our mission is to help you, the car buyer, get the BEST car for your budget and to show you why that car is suitable (as opposed to a biased opinion).... Read more

www.auHeadline '0ne owner' goes on to say one previous own. I'd love to find who coined the phrase 'previous owner'. They'd be wishing they hadn't! Still, great to see this Swift still exists - great value too.

With no Mot it’s worthless. It’s clearly badly rotten otherwise the seller would put another ticket on it.

Hi there. I obviously want to go with a policy that gives me adequate protection in the instance that there's an accident with another driver, and that driver wants to make a claim against me. Does Comprehensive Insurance give any more protection against a claim than Third Party, Fire and Theft does? Many thanks.

(P.S. I realise that Comp. would give better protection in the instance my car was damaged by another vehicle. However, my car is pretty worthless, so I realise having Comp. for that reason is pointless). Read more

Go with the cheapest which may (perversely) be comprehensive.

Your principal concern is damage to other people and vehicles....

March 2021 we purchased a used BMW from a main dealer. Sales guy told us the car had 2 previous owners (we would be third). Verified this with a copy of a HPI document which shows mileage and number of previous owners. Virtual tour of car done before purchase and all transactions done over the phone due to Covid restrictions. Fully service history provided too. Yesterday, 4 June, after chasing the dealership many times, we finally received the V5C document . This shows that the car actually has 3 previous owners (we are fourth) They lied. Been in contact with them and they have offered a full refund on the car, however, we part ex'd our car so I doubt if that is still available for return. Also we like the car, but don't appreciate being lied to.

Where can I go with this for legal advise because I feel that they have mislead us and now want the car back to close down this matter. I have documents proving all of this information.... Read more

As above probably just an honest mistake. If you are happy with the car and its service history which is the main thing why not come to a compromise such as the next service free/

They have offered you your money back but might well make a charge for the miles you have driven! Annoying but move on

blackdamp just off the M3 We have a multi lane roundabout at Blackdam Basingstoke. There have been several recent collisions recently with one resulting in serious injuries. Even local drivers can get the lanes mixed up but visitors must be really confused. I was bumped a there by a lane changer and the number of times someone in the straight on lane gets it wrong and cuts across is common. Read more

Looks like an old Series Landrover might be a good vehicle to have in that situation. When I had mine, cars seemed to always give me a wide berth, can't think why, possibly the bumper on the front was a bit intimidating...
