Hi All, I own a Suzuki Celerio. Have done since new and covered 50000 in just under 3 years. Been offered a Suzuki Warranty, Comprehensive Cover which seems to include most things but not wear and tear, at £18 per month. The car has a full service history with the Main Dealer. Should I take this offer up or should I now just think about servicing the car myself and save what could be £200 warranty cover and £300 ish Main Dealer servicing a year, totalling roughly £500 a year. It’s the none air con model so not a lot to go wrong really. The warranty would really be for engine failure but am I right to assume that this K10B engine is fairly reliable. Any advice would be appreciated. Read more

Taking warranty is very much dependent on your risk taking appetite.

Suzuki cars are reliable in general. Having said that, many years back my Suzuki Ignis (manual) gearbox failed in its 2nd year (problem with gear synchromesh). Suzuki said it was very rare and they sorted under warranty without any questions. After 3rd year, I took a Suzuki approved extended warranty. I had a minor claim which they paid out. ...

I won't be having my car serviced this year, I will change the oil and filter myself. Approximately every 10 to 14 days I have given my car a 10 mile run and kept the battery charged. I always check tyres, windscreen wipers and washers and lights weekly. Unlike a lot of drivers that love driving round with one or two bulbs out on either headlights brake lights or both. Or those that drive around with misaligned or illegal headlights dazzling everyone. Next year it will have a brake fluid and fuel filter change on top of it's normal service. Read more

So the headline: "4 in 5 drivers had their car sericed on time" is not so newsworthy??

How many drivers skip their cars servicing in "normal " years - this would help to put the figures in perspective but has been missed from the article.

The blanket comment that you would only get updates on recalls if you take it into a garage is also wrong - I have had them from the manufacturer in the past.

As some cars continuously check oil levels and tyre pressure levels when running why should you manually check these? People rely on a fuel gauge without using a dipstick in the fuel tank, whats the difference?

Cellulose thinners will get it off, but possibly too the paint underneath. A lot less volatile than acetone but can irritate the skin (backs of hands especially).

Wonder if the air con is still working John. That seems to be a common problem . But 400k is amazing . I heard the engine. Was designed by Bosch like Yamaha designed the Zetec engine for Ford in return for their casting technology from Cosworth originally to be used to cast piano frames which were very accurate and consistent.

Just bought a 2019 plate coupe in white, however the panoramic roof is shorter than previous models so there's a white panel between the end of the pana roof and the rear window which looks - well just odd. I've been told that this panel could be vinyl wrapped in gloss black to blend in with roof and rear window but I'm unsure about having it done. Any thoughts ? Read more

I you want to do it, do so. £100 seems a lot for a sticker, but I suspect it's one of those jobs you'll regret doing yourself for every minute you're wrestling with a big sheet of vinyl. Done professionally, it will last well and can be removed if required.
