was wondering about the Euro NCAP crash test ratings.
Say for example a car purchased today has a 5 star rating.... Read more
Just spotted my first new Defender. Waitrose car park? Outside Harrods? School run? Nope, it was in the Aldi car park in Aylesbury. It looks like they have found their niche. I quite liked it actually. Read more
Please forgive me adding an odd observation on your para 4. There are 2 Defender owners around where i live. The shiny vehicles are driven solely by city men on their own without passengers in the front or the back . The wives are not allowed to have a go-but that doesn't mean they do without-one wife drives a GTI Golf and the other a new Mini .
Bought a used car less than 6 months ago and past 2 months I have been topping up engine oil every couple of week and now it’s every week so I got in touch with a dealerships who suggest I get a mechanic to have a look. The mechanic checked and told me the turbo is leaking and needs replacing and cost around £934 so I spoke to the dealerships and they had declined to do anything as their 3 month warranty had expired, I am thinking taking legal action as by law the problem occurred within 6 months so likely the problem existed beforehand. His argument was they get their cars approved by RAC so it would have showed up. It’s a 1.2 tsi seat Leon.
Am I right to pursue legal action? Considering second day after buying the car I deicovered a lot of faults where radiator and air on was not working and thermostat needing replacing etc. A week later the battery went. Shows they clearly didn’t look at the car beforehand. Read more
A lot may depend on how many miles you've done since you bought it. It is a lot easier to argue a fault was present if you've done 250 miles than 6000 miles.
If you've used the car significantly then it is hard to argue it wasn't working when you bought it. The "developing" is a hard one to argue as, let's face it, when any car first turns a wheel after 1 mile from new it has begun to wear out and develop the fault which will eventually send to the scrap yard....
Might be an idea for anyone looking to buy one of these to visit the various Peugeot forums & read what the ownership experience is really like from other owners first. Read more
We have purchased over 10 Peugeot Partner vans over the last 10 years, all have covered over 200,000 miles plus. None have had any major parts fitted or evr let us down, my gennuine expeience
Trying to build a bit of margin I guess. Also volume must be down, I have just about done 1,000 miles in the last 3 months instead of in a week before lockdown. Loving working from home! Read more
Ah that crazy time in 2015 when diesel prices were the same as petrol. Looked like it was finally the promised land of 1999 when diesel was less than petrol, and the government's preferred choice of fuel - which they strongly incentivised company car drivers to choose.

When I contacted dealer on Friday, he said he'd contact me yesterday, Monday, but he didn't....
Interesting set of figures from September, and the first post-lockdown new registration.
Interesting. More Audis + BMW + Mercedes sold than Ford + Nissan + Vauxhall. UK drivers are clearly flush! Sad to see so few Jaguars sold - will they become extinct before the real ones?
How many of the top cars are for fleets Hertz, Avis etc etc?
How many are pre-reg cars to attain garage target sales?
It would be interesting to see a breakdown of cars bought by the man/woman in the street as they are spending "real money" and not a line on a corporate spreadsheet. Read more
6400 odd registered, where are they all???????
As usual the industry blames everyone and everything except itself.
Car prices are too high because new cars are loaded with more and more "tech" which few owners want or need. Until the industry produces the cars which people want to buy, rather than the ones they think we ought to buy, the situation is unlikely to improve.
I bought my present car new in 2016 and have no plans to change it. Read more
I agree 100% you hear very little about overall emissions that includes making the car and dismantling it and sourcing the parts ,so the longer an old car is kept running the better .I Dont hear anyone talking about the pollution caused by electric vehicles the emissions are just moved to the power station and dont forget the batteries they use are mined from a limited source and are highly toxic not to mention the particulates from all car brakes and tyres and yes that includes electric vehicles ,the trouble is most people these days do not have much in the way of technical knowledge and are easily swayed by media and green extremists protesters etc I am all for being green and clean but common sense is needed .

Must be a variant on the usual spamming technique - recycle an earlier post (with the OP's ID included), add a link and hope someone doesn't notice it.
