I recently sold my car to an Italian buyer. Payment was received ok in the bank, buyer never saw the car, transporter collected it then a few days later the buyer emailed a pic of the car saying it had arrived etc. Now he has contacted us asking for a copy of my ID to register it, saying this is a requirement. Really reluctant to do this, does it sound like a scam. Keen to hear people's views on it. As far as I'm concerned, car has been sold and registered as exported with DVLA, he has all of the paperwork so why does he need my ID?? Read more

Hi, just looking to put my mind at rest regarding car insurance. (sorry for the long post)

I have a part time job (zero hours contract) delivering medication to patients for a local Pharmacy. I drive a van owned and insured by the Pharmacy and i am a named driver on their policy. When not being used the van is parked in their private car park. I do not use it after hours or at the weekend and the keys are left at the Pharmacy.... Read more

Not your vehicle. Not your insurance policy. Not present when vehicle damanged. Not in any way involved or responsible. Nothing to report.

Hi

I have a 2012 Fiesta with 72000 miles. I have started hearing a noise under the car when going round roundabouts. It only seems to happen when the road surface is quite bad. When its smooth I dont hear anything. I also can hear anything just driving in a straight line even with a poor surface. Anyone have an idea what it could be? ... Read more

Hello, I'm going to be using a 17 plate 2.3 130bhp Vauxhall movano L2h2 3300 as my main vehicle. I'll be doing 4x 90mile motorway journeys per week. If I also use it for trips to the supermarket and driving around town (maybe 2k miles per year) will this cause any diesel/dpf issues over the long term or will the 4x 90mile journeys per week be enough to not make the short journeys have any negative effect?

Hi, I have a 2020 Ford Focus 1.0 ecoboost ST-Line as a courtesy car provided by enterprise however, I was driving up the hill in 3rd gear and the car started to smell really bad and it started slowing down so i pulled over. Now i put the car into gear and it won't move, just rolls backwards down the hill. This car has only done around 1800 miles, has the clutch gone on me? Read more

Hi everyone,

I cannot figure out what I need to put a roof box onto our car. The fitted racks run the whole length of the roof and each one has what appears to be two fixing fixing points, which are two holes a few centimetres apart, front and rear.... Read more

Hello!

My parked car got hit by a van who pulled up and drove off. He went to pull in front of it, misjudged it and hit my front driver's side wing. He stopped, reversed off it, pulled over and then drove off. Fortunately it was all on CCTV. It was a bit of a shunt, you can see the front of the car move about an inch.

Rang my insurance and explained the damage and they've written it off without even looking at it. They're getting back to me with the their value this week.

The car is a Mercedes SLK 200K, 55 plate but has only done 22,800 miles and has been serviced every year so it was in great condition. I doubt I'll find one in as good nick really so I'll be gutted to lose it and had no intentions of selling it in the future.

Anyway, so this was the damage...

The front bumper was lightly scuffed but nothing serious and the steering feels ok.

Any ideas on what my options are at all please? If this looks repairable I'd probably look to buy it back and see about getting it sorted.

Thanks for any advice!
