The local police cadets did a patrol before Civid-19, under the supervision of the local police neighbour team. I think they did around 100 houses, they found five unlocked cars on drives and two front doors left open (not unlocked, open).

Are these reviews really about changing air quality, or has someone just noticed the rapidly worsening economies of these towns, has the penny dropped that penalising people wishing to travel within thereby keeping these towns viable wasn't maybe their best move after all. Read more

Hello guys,

Last Friday I was driving dual carriage way and suddenly noise started appearing. It was like the belt got broken or something sort of rhythmic knocking sound. A minute later lights flashing on the dashboard appears indicating low oil level and steering wheel problem and than car just stopped. Engine got seized. It is five years car with 70K on the clock. I just wonder what would be you suggestion. Unfortunately it is my misses car and she just bought ten month ago and still have to pay for it as she took it on finance. Car was bought last October and oil level was not checked since than. The guarantee has past as it is more than 5 years. My misses did 6.5 K miles since she bought it. I would appreciate any advise on this matter as at the moment it looks hopeless.... Read more

Over the past four days I must have tried to ring the DVLA a hundred times only to get the busy tone or be told to ring back another day. How are you meant to ring them? Considering my the many hundreds I pay them the level of service is totally unacceptable! Read more

RaineMan, I don't know what your enquiry is but I have had no difficulty using the DVLA services online. Most things can be dealt with via that medium. If you really need to speak to someone I don't know what to suggest. Maybe a recorded delivery letter, 1st class, would elicit a response. Especially if you politely requested contact by mobile or landline or even e mail if you wish. I know it is frustrating when you feel you need to speak to someone so good luck.

Hello,

just a hypothetical (at this time) post really.........apart from a Toyota MR2 & a BMW Z4, which were second fun cars, over the past 25 years or so l've driven turbo diesels & still do. l like the way they drive, the torque, the economy etc. However, the next vehicle, as mileage is now down to 5 - 7k per year, will more than likely be petrol. Journeys are made up of mainly local runs & in the summer trips to the van on the Welsh coast from Shropshire.... Read more

I admit to a bias against tiny turbos ...

The Japanese have been fitting turbo's to engines much smaller (660cc) than your 1.2 for years, reliably. So if there are long term reliability issues with that VAG 1.2, i doubt it would be anything to do with the turbo itself, more the engineering. And lets face it, the engine is not under much stress, 105/110 bhp is not much for a 1.2 turbo. Ford's 1.0 Ecoboost has at various times (not currently i believe) been available with as much as 140bhp....

In one case my friend gave up and had one fitted at an auto electrician which cost £120 but saved her all the hassle of dealing with Nissan....
