hi all
I have just picked up a 51 plate 205 GLX and on occasions the needles all seem to do a little dance on their own, they all flick up and down to the same beat, and i have noticed if the lights are on, they seem to dim and brighten to the same beat.
Any clues where to look for the problem please? Read more
Hi all,
I was driving back last night in the dark when I realised that I'd put my seatbelt on in such a way that it was all twisted. Holding onto the wheel with one hand and trying to untwist the seatbelt with the other, the car edged a tad too far over to the left and bumped up and mounted the kerb as I was going along. It was just past a school in a 30 zone (I was most likely doing just under 30) with a fairly low-ish kerb. As the car hopped up on the kerb I slowed down a bit and then turned back on to the road. I completed the journey with no problems what so ever. No unusual noises, no steering problems etc. I had the tracking/wheel alignment done a week or two ago and the car still drives in a straight line with no pulling in either direction. Everything seems to be just the same however I'm unsure as I don't know whether to just leave it or not. The car feels and drives just the same.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

i had just that yesterday
Hi,
My Honda Jazz has been fantastic except on occasion it seems to "stutter" whilst driving around town as though the fuel has been restricted. This only lasts for a fraction of a second and is completely intermitent, no problems on motorways. I have had the car thorougly checked over but no problems detected. The car has done 50,000 miles and the plugs were changed at
30, 000 miles. Your help would be much appreciated as no one seems to know why. Read more
It's not uncommon to have a coil pack fail on these (from your description I'd say this is a likely cause) but there's a number of different possibilities. EGR, a knackered plug or leads, fuel filter that's never been changed, failing fuel pump, restriction in exhaust (cat breaking up) CVT transmission oil changes not been carried out on schedule (think it's every 25k) etc etc. It needs properly diagnosed by someone who knows what they're doing.
Cant believe its so hard to get the right front and rear mudflaps for my bumper colour coded ka luxury on a 52 plate. Genuine part numbers anyone?? Read more
If you buy something like a Ford bumper it will only ever be supplied in primer. You have to pay to get it painted the right colour for your car.
So, I would say the chances of Ford selling colour-coded mudflaps is zero!
A phobia is defined as an irrational fear or aversion to something. It is the irrationality of something that makes it a phobia.

As usual you are all missing the point completely. I am not have have not claimed that all MUSLIMS are terrorists.
They are bound by their religion even the whoring, drinking ones. They will slowly overtake us- by breeding more....
Hi all
I posted this on a previous thread but don't know if anyone would see it. I really need the code for my 6 CD changer! Already had 9 goes until I realised the code I had was for a different model!
It's a 6006e

An elderly person I know is trying to maintain independent living despite mobility problems and a problem with her hands.
When I was recently visiting her a fuse blew. I found it difficult to reset the fuse and it was not possible for her to do it.
Has anyone any advice on managing a fusebox for someone with difficulties ? Are any adapted for ease of use ? Read more
Excellent advice - appeciated.
Hi, I'm new to the forum. I was recommended to post about this here by a family member after taking a recent call from my insurer.
A few months ago my motorbike was pushed over whilst parked, presumably by a passer by, damaging both the bike and the car it was parked next to. The car came off worse. I didn't realise this until the next day when I cam to pick it up. I discussed it with the owner of the car and after a somewhat heated exchange we agreed it was neither of ours faults but that he may have to make a claim against me anyway, as the person who knocked the bike over is unknown.
Many months later, having completely forgotten about it (I didn't hear back from him), I get a call from my insurer saying I have a claim made against me; that I failed to give way on the road and hit a moving "third party" (car). No other details were provided. It took me a while to twig that the dates matched so it must be the owner of the damaged car. After discussing it with the insurer we agreed that I should deny all knowledge of the incident as it was described, given that it is entirely fictitious.
Assuming he changes his claim and gets back with a less spurious claim, what should I do then? Is there a way of using the previous false claim up as evidence against him? Have I taken the correct approach so far? All advice gratefully received!
Cheers
Ed
By the way, I am away on holiday for a week so apologies for a slow response to any answers.

Thanks both of you. I've not heard back since I refuted the first claim, so we'll see what happens.
Morning all. Recently bought a mondeo mk3 2.0tdci. Replaced the drop links on it and was getting a rattle/clunk over bumps immediatley after. Tried to loosen the nut holding the shock absorber incase the strut bearing was too tight and with very little force the nut sheared off. I dont think there would be enough thread left to put another nut on. Has anyone had experience in taking a strut off without the holding nut? I dont even think it would be safe to drive to a mechanic. Any help would be much appreciated. Read more
Brilliant, thought that, thanks for your help
Looking at private and trade sales ads, seeing FSH always looks good.
I would be interested in readers comments of just which of the following four (seen in recent ads) would make them think they were buying a well maintained car.
1) Full service history available
2) Full manufacturers service history since new.
3) All service/ maintenance history fully documented since new.
4) FSH- past invoices available.

I'd use:
Full main dealer service history with all receipts and invoices.
That way there can be no doubt.
This is pretty clearly a 206. Forget about a '205'. None of those ever knew how to make their needles swing about - they either registered or they didn't.
