have Insurance through Admiral. Windscreen broke but Admiral will only realistically use Autoglass. Complete disaster, after nearly 3 weeks turned up with windscreen for a left hand drive car (fixings for autowiper etc in wrong place) and informed that once they get the correct part the cars VIN plate will be covered by windscreen surround! Surely if their supplier can't supply within a reasonable time then the option should be available to get work done elsewhere at a cost that is not punitive to the policy holder. 'NO ' says Admiral stick with autoglass or we will pay only £50.00. See below

I would agree they are being unreasonable and you should push for better service.

I seem to remember other posts regarding problems when claiming from Admiral. Basically it appears they are cheap for a reason. Also, they must spend substantial amounts on peak time TV advertising (as does Hastings Direct), guess who ultimately funds that?

Just received today (4 March) an E-mail headed 'The Future of BMW'. The message runs:

To mark the occasion, we will be sharing our vision for the next 100 years.

The future of driving will be revealed.

Monday 7 January.

2pm UK time.

My wife is changing cars today, coincidentally the last day of her policy which renews tomorrow. She has just tried to change the car details with More Than online but the system says it can't be done (presumably as they wont accept changes on the last day of a policy) so we rang the "help desk". They said it would be £22 to change the details via them and suggested she waits until tomorrow to see if the system lets us do it for free on the renewed policy. Luckily we Sorn'd the new car when she bought it, pending sale of the old car, so waiting a day is not a major issue.

I appreciate insurance is now aggressively priced so they have to get their money somewhere (premium is only £171) but is it now common industry practice to charge for simple changes? Especially when the online option is not available. I dont think my own insurer (LV) charges but maybe I am just out of touch?... Read more

A year or so ago we added one son to our LV policy for 7 days so he could borrow one of our cars. Premium for this short term cover was £12, no other charge for amendment.

I thought this was very reasonable, LV premiums probably higher than MoreThan and others, swings and roundabouts, you only find the true value of your insurer if you need their help.

Hi Hope you can help. I have a 2010 ix35, a few weeks ago the speedometer started being erratic going up and down when driving and stationary. Then about a week later my reverse camera stopped working, no camera or beeping sound. Then two days ago the sat nav started playing up, the location of my vehicle is always wrong and the arrow on the map does not move when I'm driving. I would be grateful if you could tell me if these things are connected and what the problem is. The radio and phone still work as they should. Thank you Carol.

At 05.35 this morning when dropping off passengers for their 07.35 flight-I was delayed yet again ( this isn't new!)by the seriously stupid roundabout just before the final access road to the aiport( nr Ibis hotel). It added 20 minutes to our overall journey time. There was thus plenty of time to observe the continuing permanent earthworks and roadworks on around the final car park access areas. Signage is poor, no advance warning of charges, no emergency stopping. Struggling to find change in total darkness for the £2.80 drop off fee for less than 2 minutes ( naturally no change given)caused friction and delay to other drivers behind me.

On exit from this drop off-drivers are then taken on a wide scenic route around the old long stay car park alongside the run way, the fastest only exit being back up the road towards the main M1 roundabout or to the city centre if by remote chance you might wish to go there( nobody did).... Further to my initial post-I understand that there is no time limit for dropping off/collecting. However the £Clock keeps rising-big time. I say this --since it could well be one of the reasons why there is a queue to get in at rush hour (05.50!)--and as we all know--put empty spaces in a car park(anywhere!) and they will be filled. Personally I would want "out" at once--but there are always some who for some odd reason at airports just love to linger. However--this is a cash cow--so doubtless it will remain.
