March 2016
I was a victim in a RTA where a car drove into the back of my stationary vehicle pushing me across the road and down the back of lorry. My car had various damage from rear bumper and front drivers wheel arch, but also damage to the 'rear quarter panels' on both sides.
Direct Line/the garage are saying the damage is not part of the accident and i'm now having to PROVE the damage was due to the RTA. Obviously I didn't take pictures of my car prior to leaving my house so it's my word against Direct Lines at present.
As the victim in this i feel i'm being treated unfairly, and although i've taken the car back i still have an outstanding complaint being looked into.
I'm not sure what guidance or advice you can offer me?

I think you only get 10 attempts at entering the keycode, with an 11th last time attempt. So I think it is game over for your radio.Btw your radio code is 7379.
Last week my EPC light was on and my accelerator pedal became really weak. I took it to be fixed in South Croydon and they said there was something stuck (in a place I can't remember where) it was like a black tube blocking something causing the EPC light to come. They said it was fixed and I paid about £100 for it and now the EPC light is back on again. Before all of this, the EPC light was on and my accelerator was also really weak, my dad was driving it to take it to be fixed and the car stopped on the way had to be towed. I paid around £450 that time around, last week £100 and now it's on again I just don't know what to do? This is my first car and I know very little on warning lights and cars for the matter and I've only had the car for 3 months I just don't know whether to take it back to be fixed for the light to just come on again? My ABS light also comes on regularly and my oil light was on (I filled the oil up and it's off now anyway). Could anybody give me some advice on what I should do?
Thanks in advance, sorry if this is long! Read more
Hope you got it fixed.Sounded like the brake light switch that flashes the EPC light and goes to limp mode if the brake lights fail.
I wonder if anybody could assist. I have a 52 reg 1.4l scenic. It has recently been idling at between 1500 and 2000 revs. Car drives fine until it heats up a little and I come to a stop. It then starts to rev up and down between 500 and 2000 revs. Its as though its gasping for air. Checked all pipes for leaks. Changed coils and coolant sensor but no joy. Anybody any ideas or experience of this. Read more
The idle speed is controlled by a stepper motor which allows varying amounts of air to bypass the throttle. If your idle speed is erratic then it's likely that the idle speed stepper motor is all over the place. This could be due to carbon build up in the throttle body, or a worn or dirty throttle butterfly valve. Make sure the throttle stop is correctly adjusted, and that the throttle potentiometer is also correctly set. If your engine has an EGR system make sure the valve closes fully at idle. Anything wrong in these areas will mean the ECM will be continuously operating the ISTM to try to obtain the correct idle speed. Also make absolutely certain you have no intake vacuum leaks.
Ignition coils were never likely to be the cause unless the engine is misfiring.
We're lead to believe that new car sales figures have been breaking records for the last 3-4 years. We're also lead to believe that a increasing proportion of these sales are PCP deals (anything between 40% and 65% depending on where you lok!)
Taking those figures in isolation, that means there's probably 2,500 - 4,000 Mazdas alone that are reaching the end of a PCP term (allowing for a those that might have been written-off, exported, bought on shorter/longer term deals etc), based on their UK sales figures for March 2013 of around 8,500. That's not including demonstrators, which seems to represent a large chunk of the selection on sale at the moment. I'd imagine the vast majority of these will be handed back, sold on or traded in.... It's good news for buying used as the prices are going down.
The PCP companies may not be so lucky as they not going to be makes their margins. 5%-10% less then the guaranteed. In the long term that means PCP will be more expensive and less companies too. So people who have PCP agreements might not be so happy when they have purchase a car and the PCP cost of replacement is more than they planned!
I need advice for replacing a broken centre air vent grille.

Thankyou for replying.
I'm afraid it will crack or break because i don't have experience unclipping and i don't know the location of the clipping poins. Do you know of an internet resource that demonstrates this?...

The comfort/convenience module sits in a plastic housing under the carpet/underlay ,passenger footwell.Very common for it to get flooded by rain water due to the bulkhead drains ,under battery, getting blocked.Easy to disconnect ,usually 3 or 4 multi plugs, with no issues.
