Again, they are often cyclists, nuff said!

I have the BMW 2 Gran Tourer Luxury edition and whilst it's a fine car in many respects I find the driver's seat causes pain and discomfort to my right leg above the knee. This is down to the shape of the seat base and not helped by the double row of stitching running around the top of the edge of the seat.

I brought the issue to the attention of the dealership soon after taking delivery of the car and they referred the matter to BMW. BMW responded by saying that as the seat is as designed and has no technical flaws there is nothing they can do.... Read more

The post above raises an interesting point... I test drove a number of different models of the car but none had the luxury seats. What we did know is that whilst the sport seats suited me they didn't suite my wife so we knew we didn't want the sports seats. We went as far as having the luxury seats measured (by the dealer) front to back so we could be sure that the seat would be fine for my wife (which, incidentally, it is).

Added to this is that the electrically adjusted seats have a greater range and direction of adjustment than those with the manually adjusted seats....

Hi, I have recently bought a subaru forester diesel and upon reading the manual it states that no fuel additives are to be used at all.

I just wondered if there is a reason for this as my previous car was a nissan xtrail and I used to add millers eco to the fuel, I did not add this for extra power it was for keeping fuel system clean which at mot time mechanic commented that emmisions were extremely low and dpf light hardly ever came on whilst using this.... Hi, Thanks for the comments. My Subaru is 2013. On my X Trail I got the dpf light every 4-6 weeks until I started using millers eco then it hardly ever came on.

This was why I was going to use it in the subaru, but I have not had any problems with light coming on in the 3 months I have owned it so maybe not required afterall, I did suspect that it may be a warranty issue but was just going to add a bit to keep fuel system clean but might not bother afterall....

Basically it's a waste of time trying to use the guide prices. The cost of the same car will vary based on your location which is not factored in the guides.

Dealers will adjust prices to be competive within 50 miles or so. Many don't own the cars they sell and therefore are working to tight fixed margins. Often they will have car to draw the punters priced at internet low and the car they want to sell you with a bit more fat!...

Nissan dealership - I rang them up to say I want to test drive a Quashqai. The salesman who I had the appointment was busy dealing with someone else. So he passed me off to a junior staff. He asked me 'which car are you considering?' explained that I was considering a Ford .... and Honda ..... He said I should go try out the other cars and then come back to try the Quashqai. I explained that the Quashqai was at the top of my list!. Then he looks on his computer and sees there are no Quashqai and then having spent an hour with him, tells me there are none available and I should make another appointment!. I got very angry at them wasting my time. I explained, I had car problems and getting here was a bit of a drama. I barged into the manager office and told them this is not acceptable. Especially, as I bring in my car for service to the. Their dealership keeps sending me mailshot invites everytime when a new Nissan is launched, but the day I want to test drive a car, they can't be helpful. They let me test drive an 'unpreped' car, but the back seats had crumbs of foods, crips, biscuits. You can't tell it has not been looked after. The drivers seat had white stains, which I rather not think about how they got there. I amazed me how peopel look after their cars. The dealership will valet it and make it look like new, but there is no evidence the dealership keeps the most pristine model. As they end up on their forecourt.

Vauxhall - rang them up want to test drive a Vauxhall Ampera. They never called me there. Rang 2-3 times. When I got there, they said they took a deposit. They told me I should make another appointment to test drive another Ampera (even though I had made an appointme to test drive Ampera). No one phoned me to say a deposit had been taken. He claimed it was 'just a minute ago' However, they let me test drive the sold car, however, it was full of chocolate wrappers. He told me the salesman was using the looked like one of their salesman car!. It was electric, so was free charging the car at work. He then said there was another Ampera at a higher mileage 48,000miles and £1,500 more expensive, then the one which was sold!. He would not negotiate on the price. I walked out. They did not called me back with any offers, even though he took down my details. ...

Hi and thanks for reading.

This is in relation to my 2005 Ford Fiesta 1.4 Zetec. Today whilst driving the clutch suddenly failed, going loose and falling to the floor, then when I pulled on it it came up much higher than the other pedals. I couldn't engage a gear and had to phone a local garage for recovery. As the car was undrivable I didn't really have much option to choose a garage once past this point.... Read more

dgor, its good to read of someone who has taken such a reasonable and philosophical view.

Happy and trouble free motoring.

Hi folks, when i start my car in the morning it chuggs/stutters when i accelerate, it gets slightly better when the car is warm but when you put the foot down it still stutters a bit. Any help would be a great help thanks Read more

I continue to enjoy the CLK, even in the winter (the roof is down when it's dry), but our family situation changes in a couple of months. My wife will be back to work and paying the ballon payment to keep the Yaris, so I am pondering a bigger family car more suitable for camping trips and holidays.

I had quite fancied an Auris Hyrid estate, but don't fancy the price! So today I have looked at a Dacia Logan MCV, in posh Laureate Prime trim. I haven't driven one yet, which may be its undoing, but just looking and poking around it seems okay. We would be looking at the little turbo petrol engine which seems to get good reviews in Renaults, and I'm not bothered about traffic light races, although I am sometimes tempted in the CLK.

I will have had a fun year in the Merc but am worried about expensive failures (I've had a couple of cheap failures and have been lucky with those!). The savings in petrol and tax could pay for half of what a new Dacia would cost- and that's without money I am putting aside for maintenance.

Any thoughts? Am I mad? Does anyone want to buy a CLK? Read more

Interesting thread. I had a E Class estate which was eating more money than it was worth.

Bought new Dacia Logan MCV 1.5Dci Lauréate a month ago. Couldn't be happier with it....

Great shout mate!

They appeared connected but just pushed the cables in a little harder and bingo no lights or limp mode on the last two trips so fingers crossed, saved me a few quid as the garage wanted to change the sensors as that is what flagged up when plugged in, how strange!?

My 2003 Nissan Primera 1.8 SE 5dr has 205/60/R16 tyres with alloy wheels at the moment. I will need to change the tyres at the next MOT (June).

I am scrapping my Vauxhall Vectra (after an accident), but the tyres on this car are still good - 1 Michelin, 1 Goodyear and 2 almost new budget tyres. The tyre size is 215/55/R16 93H. But this car does not have alloy wheels.... Read more

Mixing tyre sizes not usually a good thing and if you properly tell your insurance company you may find they won't cover you with this sort of mismatch modification
