I have a 2003 CRV, 90K
my problem is when driving at 70 for any length of time the car judders/bumps, as if there's no fuel getting through and sometimes loses all power, the engine light comes on.... Read more
Then you need to locate a garage that know what they are doing. It could be a number of issues causing this and if the light is on a code is set.
Had a minor bump on the way home today. It was entirely avoidable and I am more annoyed at the other driver than the damage to the CLK (broken light lense and damaged rear bumper).
The main road near us, going through Sutton Coldfield into Birmingham has recently changed from a 40 limit to a 30. Some people havent realised this, so this morning I had Nissan Juke in my boot flashing its lights while I pootled at 30-35.... Read more
Well i'm pleased he insurer have agreed liability, pity they didn't get in touch earlier or they could have mitigated their costs somewhat.
Daughter in Law's car got hit quite hard in the child nursery car park, the other party's insurer couldn't get on the phone quick enough to sort it out amicably, like for like hire car from them (Rav 4 for CRV), CRV collected and will be returned when fixed, couldn't be easier....
Am looking to purchase replacement headlight of my Mk5 golf which has a leveling motor fitted. Is it easy to change the motor from one light unit to the other or is it more economical to just purchase a new unit with motor already fitted? Read more
It is possible to swap the leveling motor, but usually the plastic ball and socket breaks as it has become brittle with the heat.Best get a complete unit ,ready to fit.You will need to drop the bumper forward to access the lower screws.
Last year I had a problem with my car stalling when slowing down and kangarooing as if there was a fuel blockage. I went to my garage several times and then took it to a Nissan dealership at their suggestion, no faults came up on the computer but they suggested I needed to replace the Air Flow Meter at the cost of £450 (part only). While I was waiting for the part to be ordered the car seemed to have corrected itself and I didn't experience further problems, apparently this could have been cleared because they had removed the meter and tested another meter and then replaced it. I therefore cancelled the part.

Totally agree with Railroad. A faulty MAF should bring up a fault code in the region P0101 - P0104.
Even if there are no fault codes then reading live engine data should show erroneous sensor readings if faulty, wildly out of range temperature ones (-50'c) have been my experience on other marques....

Is this a sudden change when idling after driving or does it gradually cool down?
If the latter it might not be a fault at all. Diesels produce very little excess heat at idle. Have you compared it with other T5s?
Hello there,
This will be a broad one I know, but...... Read more

Unhinged and off the runners
Have recently bought a new petrol Cmaxx, chosen for MPG but am shocked at how poor this is. I am a careful and experienced driver and the best I can achieve is 33.6 rather than the 55.4 official data. Is there any data on how many miles I need to drive before ( if ever) I get a decent MPG. I am worried as my car costs have escalated and I wish to complain to Ford and the dealership. Any advice please would be gratefully received Read more
Nice warm summer day, motorway at 50mph and you may see 50 mpg from the 1.0 ecoboost in a car weighing as much as a C max.
UK autumn, cold days, expect what you are getting. Short trips in particular will be an mpg killer, but if you are doing low annual mileage seek solace in the fact a diesel wouldn't have been much better.
first snippets of the proposed fix published in German press
'Among the improvements of vehicles Müller said, it is about the engine EA 189 in combination with various gears and various country-specific interpretations. "So we do not need three solutions, but thousands." For most motors an update of the software in the local workshop will satisfy, but some vehicles might need new injectors and catalysts....
