Hi There
I'm moving back to the UK shortly and in need of a decent set of wheels for myself, the wife and the 1 year old in quick time after I land.
I've got up to around £6k to spend and have been looking mainly at the diesel Mk4 Mondeos which all have 80-120k miles for around the £4-6k mark.
However, for a similar price i can get a similar age vectra with 55k miles or 06 passats with 70k miles.... Read more

How can I deactivate the alarm system?
Owned car 3 mths. Advised by previous owner alarm not working. Recently charged battery and reinstalled, alarm activated car immobilised. Replaced batteries in alarm fob, which I had hoped would deactivate system. Any suggestions welcomed. Read more

One of the key transmitters has occasionally not worked but the other has been 100% until now. The use of the reliable transmitter has then always enabled the other one to work OK for some time until it failed again. Now both transmitters will not activate the security system and I have had to resort to using the keys which do work OK. Batteries have been recently replaced on both.
Apart from throwing myself at the mercy of a Jaguar dealer, is there anything simple that can be tried to get it up and running again? Read more
You could programme in a couple of Mondeo keys .Probably a cheaper option.hth

Buy a petrol Honda Accord or Toyota Avensis, cheaper and much more reliable. Mazda 6 (petrol) is worth a look too. You'll find the Accords are much nicer to drive than the US models which are fitted with cheap nasty soggy suspension.
