Hi there, the interior light at the rear in the luggage area no longer comes on when the middle or front lights come on. It can be switched on manually so I know the bulbs are ok and power is getting there. I'm assuming something has gone wrong with the dimming unit.

Anyone had a similar problem?... Read more

Yes the lights work ok when switched on manually and yes there is wiring in the rear NS wing.

I've been looking at other threads but nothing is coming up. The problem is my mpg seems to low, the car has had the timing belt & water pump done-egr replaced with a new one-lower boost hoses replaced- liqi Molly diesel purge as well as using it in full tank of fuel.
I've done mixed driving 50% motorway A roads and around locally, full tank done just over 400 miles and I'm not driving crazy :-(
The car has done 138k with two previous owners, should I get a remap to see if it helps with the mpg etc ? Only thing is its £200 and will it work ? Read more

Problem sorted, there was a vacuum hose that had come undone so the turbo wasnt kicking in hence shocking fuel figures.

I had been getting 400 to a tank with 50/50 driving with no power, car is running fine. I shall be replacing all vacuum hoses with silicone ones asap

Hi all,

My 2003 TDCI Fiesta blew a massive hole in it's turbo pipe (it's the pipe that comes from the turbo and goes to left hand side of the engine cover).... Read more

There was no engine management light at any time.

I suppose it is possible that the pipe blew due wear. The car has 120,000 miles on it. ...

Royal Mail have admitted liability for driving their lorry into me while I was parked on Wednesday just gone. I called them yesterday morning and told them that my insurers had arranged repair and that a claims management firm had arranged a courtesy car. I asked if they'd like to provide all of this instead and possibly save themselves some money. They've agreed, my car has been collected this morning and courtesy car delivered at the same time. They also agreed to cover the cost of the CDW. My insurers have cancelled everything and said it would be as if this hadn't happened as far as my policy premiums and no claims bonus are concerned.

Next question is, am I going to be able to get the repairs done within that price? New rear wing/panel and rear bumper, doesn't have to be Renault parts. Just a rough idea would be a great help guys.

No one on a forum can give you a price for works like this, they need to see the car....

Just bought a new car from a second hand car dealer and the paint near the number plate has started to peel off. He has said he will contribute towards a repair, is that right or should he pay for the repair. Read more

So you have only just bought it but the paint has already started to peel off.

I have been using new engine oil inside box sections, doors and sills for about 50 years and I can assure you it goes along way in preventing rust.

Waxoil is OK for flat surfaces but doesn't creep into the seams where most rust starts, before it sets, oil remains fluid and will go on creeping. If you do it once a year it will considerably prolong the life of the metal....

This is how the car is described on some technical sites! Why do some people on forum sites make stupid comments.
