Hi All,
Firstly please forgive me as I am in no way technical and not that clued up on cars!
Have a problem on acceleration with the car, it's jerking and the engine warning light is on permanently. There are no other symptoms and all fluid levels are fine. Any ideas? Many Thanks in advance. Read more
Hi i have just bought a 1.9 TDI mk4 golf and it has this annoying thing going on with the wiper system, when i start the engine the wipers turn themselves on and wipe for about 6 strokes then stop at random positions.
if i go from intermitant wipe to off it will do the same it on goes back to the rest position when in intermitant...... but then when i go back to the off position it all starts again,,,
I have changed the motor and relay 100 .... are there any more relays as the haynes manual bares no resemblance with regards to relay position on the car.

IPCC to make recommendation, ACPO agree it, end of problem?
Who knows. IMO the balance needs to be looked at, maybe this is the catalyst to ensure it is.

I thought LKF had a money back guarantee if their work didn't improve your a/c? My 307 is over 5 years old and the unserviced a/c was blowing very cold air the day I passed it on. I would have had it serviced if it needed it but it was never mentioned in the annual service and I never thought there was anything wrong with it
Thinking of giving the old machine a once over.

I an having trouble starting my Kia Sedona in a morning. I have had various things checked and once warm the car starts perfectly. In the morning it turns over fairly slowly and struggles to start. The starter motor is fairly new and the battery is only a week old. I had to call out the breakdown service as the car did not start. as soon as he put his battery pack on it started within seconds so i presume the glow plugs and starter are okay. he tested the alternator and said it was charging. Could I ask;
1) does anyone have any ideas
2) could the new battery be a duff one? I have arranged for a mechanic to do a voltage drop test but would welcome any ideas.

My car is a R Clio Dynamique 1390cc 1st reg 1/4/07. Still under warranty.
I have an intermittent problem when i first start the car, that the garage say they cannot find, probably because it doesn't happen everytime! When i first start the engine everything is OK, If I rev up the engine to 3000 revs its okay but once i engage gear and reach about 2000 revs it suddenly dies. No warning lights have ever come on. I have to change up and down gear and slow down to an almost standstill until after a minute or so it warms up and then works OK. This has gone on for some time and I now notice that when the revs die if i put my foot down on the accelerator to try and 'push'it it will suddenly surge up then die back down and become a bit juddery. Problem only in the first few minutes of starting, the car might be cold but the weather is not that cold and damp yet and the car's not that old. Surely a garage mechanic can work out what is wrong, looking on the web i thought it could be something to do with an ECU failing to tell the choke to increase fuel when its first needed.
First time in garage they did a diagnostic and said there was a recognised Clio problem and replaced the accelerator cable that was fouled up, BUT ITS JUST THE SAME.
I always thought it seems to be very lacking in power when driving, not what I would call nippy which i expected from a small 1.4 car but it seems to be worse, quite flat. The garage also increased the idling speed and I swear the MPG has dropped to 35MPG. Read more
Renault Kangoo Diesel 1.9 van always starts first time in the mornings, but will not rev-up, just runs on a rough tick-over. Switch off and restart and it runs fine. I have to do this every morning. Using the vehicle is not a problem during the day; it will stop and restart all day long, which suggest something to do with cold start.
The only other thing that I have noticed is that the heater indicator Glowplug light stays on until I switch off and restart. The Glowplugs have been renewed.
Has been no more than an inconvenience to me, but now I want to trade it in and need it fixed. Any pointers in the right directions would be appreciated.

Hi there was a member previously of the back room but my e mail has changed so have joined again. A good colleague of mine due to family bereavement wants to sell his car in order to then takeover his late fathers car.
He wants to sell his 2006 Polo GTI with 38.5K and full VW service history,
On my advise i told him to phone his local VW dealer where he bought the vehicle and subsequently serviced it with them. We both expected a derisory offer which would give us a benchmark to get the ball rolling. It is totally immaculate and has the sunroof option as well as Air Con and is in metellic silver. I knew little about this version of the Polo GTI, i now believe it was only available for 18 months and he tell's me is the 1.8 Turbo. We know it was not a big seller at the time, a niche car i guess. Not convinced it's a cult car yet if ever either, but non the less very rare. The dealer has offered 8K over the phone subject to satisfactory viewing. This seems a very good offer to us,
Basically should he accept or try another means of selling it?
Over to the forum.
Thanks in advance
